Cameron walked out of the mall, holding only two bags, not a lot too her. She popped her trunk and threw the bags in the back of her crappy Mustang. There wasn't anything she really liked, she got some shoes, but she didn't need them. She also bought a purse with her birthday money. She never got present, she was spoiled rotten and didn't like much of the stuff she got (the iPod was a plus), so everyone just gave up and gave her money.
She unlocked her Mustang and pulled into the driver's seat, and dropped her purse on the seat of the car. She closed her eyes, hoping for all the luck, that her car would start. People often asked to trade her car for theirs, but she would just say, 'That's an unfair trade for you.' It looked pretty, blue, with a nice silver stripe on the side, and "Mustang" written in the royal blue. But it had many real problems.
She put the key into the ignition, and it would turn. She pulled the key out, and pushed it back in again. She turned it, and the car started. She smiled, but as she put the stick shift into reverse, it went off again. At least she wasn't on a hill, it would be rolling. She turned the key, and put it back into park. Her blue eyes moved up to the sky, and she mouthed, 'Why? Why me!?'
She pulled out the key, and kissed it, trying to gather more luck. She put back, and turned it. Only for the vehicle to rub it's engine, and turn off again. She hit the steering wheel, and jumped as it honked. She crossed her arms, why did the parking lot have to be empty now? Could some random, hot guy just come up and ask her if she needs help?

It was the perfect time to go to the mall, nobody else was there which meant that there would be no crazed girls following him around. Normally he could take that but not today, not when Jordan wasn't with him. It felt really weird not to have his best friend with him but he'd had to take his sister somewhere. He pushed his sunglasses further up as he studied the contacts list on his cell phone. There had to be somebody that he could call that would be willing to hang out with him at the mall. After all was he not Brenden Erickson, quarterback of the football team for two years now? Of course, that had been his older brother's position before his though. His brother had been the one who had brought the Erickson name back into popularity among students. But Jake was twenty one now and was still of partying every chance that he got.
He then pulled out from the parking lot next to the mall that he had been in once he heard a honk. That was the universal sign of frustration, and if it was some person who looked around his age that was having car problems he was happy to help. And if it was one of his parents friends he'd help them. But if it was some out of state person that was violently swearing at the car and kicking it he wouldn't stop. There was no way he wanted to be attacked from somebody and that would be just his luck since Jordan wasn't there to chase people off for some reason he liked doing that. Then again, he was the best sprinter on the track team so maybe he just thought that it was fun to chase people off. There was just some things about Jordan that he'd never really get. Like why was he obsessed with gummy worms.
He then pulled into the parking lot of the mall and looked around. There was only one car in the parking lot which was a little odd. But it was then that he got a look of the person that was inside of the car. Yes, he was going to stop and help her if she wanted help. Ok, so he thought that the girl was rather pretty from what he could see and that was a factor. He then got out of his truck and made his way over to where the car was. Before coming here he'd dug through his brother's closet and reclaimed some shirts that had went missing from his room. Apparently Jake had been "borrowing" them for some reason. Then he was next to the car and he knocked on the window lightly. It was a good thing that it was he that had stopped instead of well, Jake. Since he knew that Jake would start to flirt with this girl right away and she probably wouldn't want that. "Car problems?" He asked and then patiently waited for an answer.

Cameron slouched to the side. Of coarse, the day she forgot her cell, was the day her car wouldn't start. She looked out the passenger window, looking for some sort of pay phone, but, there was no luck. She placed her head in her hands, and sighed, screaming in her head. God, if she knew this would happened, she would've traded this car for the Fire bird John offered her when she was 16, right before she moved here. At least it ran smoothly.
She looked at her glove department. Maybe there was something there, like a manual, or something of those sorts. She opened it, and looked inside. It was clean. She probably took it out and into her dorm, the day she cleaned out her car before vacation. It also probably didn't help that it hadn't been driven for a month. She heard a knock on her door, and she looked up, surprised.
She could hear the guys voice muffled, but she could still understand it. 'Car problems.', she forced a smiled, and nodded, but her mind raced: 'No way, my car is perfectly fine, I just enjoy sitting in it and doing nothing.' She clearly was not a happy camper right now. She opened the door slightly, "Just a bit." She said, adding a sigh.
She stepped out, looking at him, getting a full view of him. "Do you suppose you can help?" She asked, her smile fading. She was a good actress. Her mother would be freaking out, while Cameron stayed calm during times like this, though she could've managed to not hit the steering wheel, making it honk. But maybe that's what got his attention. Her closed her door, and crossed her arms.

So she was having car problems well it was a good thing that his dad and older brother had drilled things about cars into his brain for years now. He just took his truck to the shop because usually he didn't have the time to fix it. But, it had only refused to start on him once and that was because the battery had just died on him for some unknown reason. It probably had been a faulty battery and that was why he didn't go to the auto parts store where he'd gotten the battery from anymore. "I think that I could help you but I'd have to take a look at things underneath the hood first before I could figure out what is wrong. And if I can't fix it I probably know somebody that could." He said knowing that one of his dads friends from when he was in school was a mechanic at the local automobile repair shop.
He looked at the car for a moment and tried to think of all of the things that could be wrong with it. He was placing his bets on a dead battery but now that he thought about it he really didn't know what had caused her to get into the predicament. "So, are you able to start it or will it start and not stay running? Or is there something else going on.?" He asked before looking at the car, it looked like it was a nice one. But he'd seen plenty of cars that had nice body's but bad engines or other problems with them. His brown eyes then moved for the car to the girl who obviously was the owner of the car. She was good looking, he'd admit that but he wasn't going to start small talk now. AT least, not until her car had been fixed.
"Hang on, let me get my toolbox out of my truck. That is, if my older brother didn't decide to borrow it without the intent to return it." He said and then took off at a jog toward his truck and then looked around in the backseat before he spotted it. At least it was there, and people had noticed his name was written across in slightly large letters so that nobody would be able to take it on him. He then grabbed it and made his way back over to where the girl was. He tired to remember if he had seen her around school before but he couldn't place her face with a name. Usually he was pretty good with names but he really didn't think that he knew this girl. But there was a good chance that she knew him or at least his name had come up somewhere. It seemed as if a ton of girls were talking about him.
((I hope that's good but I'm really hungry and am off to go eat.))

OOC: Anythings good, as long as it's a post!IC: Cameron moved her tongue around her mouth. "You can do anything to it, as long as you don't make it worse." She said with a smile. She had no idea how to open the hood. It hadn't done anything wrong since she'd been here, but now, it just had to. But maybe it was a good thing. "And you know how to do it." She said, hoping he knew about cars, her last boyfriend couldn't fix a car to save his life.
She sighed, she would never forget her cell phone again, never. She didn't drive at around school, she just walked. That's how she managed to stay thin. She never played sports, well, she played softball in 5th grade, but she gave up, she didn't like sports anyways, she never got the point of sports. She sang, and that's all she really cared about. "Well, it started once, then stopped suddenly, then it almost started, and wouldn't turn on after that."
She smiled at him, he looked good, he was hot, but probably not into her. The only thing he was probably thinking about was her car. She nodded before he left, but she couldn't help but giggle when he added the part about his brother borrowing. Ever since her brother died, she had been an only child.
She never had to deal with things being "burrowed" and not returned. Her mother wasn't one to do that too, but apparently, she was one to send her daughter to a school, far away from home. But, Cammy wasn't one to hold a grudge.

Oh he wasn't about to make her car worse, he'd only do that to somebody that he didn't like. And this girl definitely wasn't one of those people. "Don't worry, I'd never do that to a person that I don't hate." He said and then made his way to the front of the car and lifted the hood up and then made sure it was going to stay up before he began looking studying the car's motor. That seemed as if it was fine but as soon as his eyes moved to the battery the problem was solved. Yet he noticed that the car was low on windshield washing fluid. That wasn't such a big deal but it was something to do since if you didn't have any then you'd need it. That always seemed to be the case and he'd hate for her to want to use the wipers to get bugs off of the window and for there not to be any in there. One might think that he was bending over backward for this girl but he didn't think so.
He then stepped back and looked over at the girl. "Well, your battery is dead. It must have been on its last legs when you started it before dieing completely. Also, your windshield washing fluid is low but I can take care of that. Since I think that there's some inside of my truck still." He said before thinking about the different ways to fix her problem. "Fixing your car should be an easy thing, I just have to move my truck over here and give it a little jump." He said before digging his keys out of his pocket he then made his way over to his truck a few moments later it was next to her car and he was rummaging in the backseat for what he needed. Aha, the jumper cables had slid under the passenger seat. He then pulled them out and connected everything. After a few moments he turned his truck off, her problem should be solved now.
"Everything should be fine now but while I'm at it I might as well fix your windshield washer fluid problem. I just had to buy some for my truck so you can have the rest of it." He said before once again rummaging in the backseat of his truck before he came across the bottle. After the fluid was inside of it's spot in her car he tossed the empty bottle in the back of his truck. Now there was time for small talk, if she wanted to talk anyway. "What's your name? I don't think that I've seen your around school before?" He asked curiously there was a good chance that if he didn't know her, somebody else would but if she was new that might not be possible.

Cameron smiled at him. "I wasn't worried about you doing that on purpose, so much as doing it on accident." She said, with a smile. Though she didn't know him, she trusted him. She often didn't let people take control, she liked to be in control, but now, all she wanted to do was get her car fixed. She cocked her head. He didn't seem like someone who would hate somebody. Her mind shrugged. She walked over, and stopped behind him, watching him work. Nothing looked familiar, she never opened the hood.
All she was thinking about was this mess, none of this would've happened if her mom would let her spend the last two years of high school back home. But noooo, she had to ship her here, to freakin' Wisconsin. But not everything was bad about that. She had met this guy, he seemed nice, and she wanted to get to know him. She snapped back into reality, missing half the words he had said, missing about what was wrong with her car. 'Smile and nod.' She thought, but she made it convincing. Well, she had heard it would be easy, that's a plus.
She backed out of the way when he started to move his truck closer. She watched his every move. Gosh, she was so obsessed with boys, it wasn't funny, he was mighty fine. It looked like he worked out, too. Which meant he probably liked sports, so what. Jumper Cables? Her dad had a pair of those, but she never touched them. "You really don't have to do that." And he didn't need to put the fluid, whatever, into her car. She could pay for her own, and go to a repair shop. But he already filled it up, oh well.
She smiled at him. "Thanks, your a life-saver." She was acting over-dramatic. Like he had saved her life, he just fixed her car. She leaned against her car, she made sure this time, she didn't space out, and she would listen to him. "My names Cameron." She returned to her normal self, bubbly and bouncy. "And, not really anyone has. I've been gone for awhile, but this will be my second year." Cammy added. Then, she asked. "What's your name?"

He wouldn't have tried to fix her car if he didn't know what he was doing. He'd seen people who were overly confident when they shouldn't have been try to fix a car and end up doing more harm than good. Of course maybe that was the reason why he only let certain people touch his truck."Don't worry, I wouldn't do anything if I didn't know exactly what I was doing." He said and then smiled at her, he was happy to be helping her and knew that if word got around about this then a ton of girls would probably be asking him to take a look at their cars. And he'd simply say no since he knew that a ton of girls were trying to get his attention and that any of them would probably die if he talked to them about things. He didn't really know why he wanted to talk to this girl so bad, he just did.
He heard her say that he didn't have to put the window washing fluid in but simply ignored her. Besides, by the time she'd said that he had been almost done anyway. "It''s fine with me, it means that I don't have to have another bottle of stuff in my truck. Since I never moved it inside of the garage." He said and thought of the time that he'd seen a girl in the auto parts store who had been looking for antifreeze and had been in the tire section. She hadn't known a thing about cars and it had been rather funny to watch. Now he was sure that this girl that he was talking to would have more sense then that but he knew that some girls were just uncomfortable with going into an auto parts store because they were nervous about getting stared at.
"I'm a life saver just because I fixed your car? Well then maybe I should fix cars for people more often." He said and then listened to what she said. Cameron was a pretty name, but he knew that he'd better not think about that. Otherwise he'd probably go off into his own little world and there conversation would be ruined. "My name's Brenden, and it's nice to meet you Cameron. I've been going to this school my whole life. So, this is your second year what grade are you in? Obviously you're either a junior or a senior." He asked knowing that there was no way she could be a sophomore. Although he thought that she was a senior he knew that he could be wrong.

She smiled at him again. She smiled a whole lot, she was told, by many people. It didn't bother her, she was a happy person at least that's what she thought. Maybe she was too happy, still, it didn't mean anything. Not to her at least. Her brother always teased her about it all the time, and she would just smile, and laugh along. "OK, I trust you then." She said, she still had a smile on her face.
She looked at him, he was sweet. She didn't want to walk around the auto parts store, and he just saved her money, Though that wasn't her biggest problem. "But, you still have it in your truck, now it's just empty." He had thrown it into the back of his truck. "The least I could do is throw it away." She held out her hand, asking for the empty bottle. It wouldn't sit in her car for awhile, she was a neat freak.
Cameron shrugged, "Maybe you should. I could still be sitting here, hitting the steering wheel on accident and scaring myself half to death." She rambled. That probably was what she would have been doing if he didn't show up. Why would she need her phone anyways, who would she call? She didn't want to talk to her parents, and she didn't have much friends here, besides, they were in Colorado, that would not have helped her.
'Brenden, what a cool name.' She thought. No one at her old school had that name. "Nice to meet you, too." She normally would have added that her nickname was Cammy when she introduced herself. But, for some reason, she didn't. "I just happen to be a senior." She said. The seventeen-year-old pressed her lips together, and nodded.

It was good to know that she trusted him, or at least she trusted him enough to allow him to fix her car. Which, to him was a lot of trust he didn't even know if he'd trust his brother to fix his truck. Well, he probably would as long as Jake knew what he was doing and wasn't going to mess his truck up just to get back at him for something. Then again, his brother usually wouldn't get back at him like that usually he would do something such as setting his alarm clock to go off at two in the morning. Although his parents hadn't been really happy about that happening. He wondered if Jake even knew about the time that he'd put a ton of glitter in his hair while he was passed out on the couch. He had the pictures to prove that he did it but it really wasn't any fun if Jake didn't know about it.
"I suppose that I could throw it away but I could also leave it back there and then toss it into the spot in the garage where there's a ton of bottles that are going to be recycled, someday when somebody remembered to."He said and then wondered how long some of those bottled had been sitting in the box marked recyclables. Maybe if he remembered to he'd take them all to the recycling center later. But he probably would forget and he didn't have a pen to write down to take the boxes there. His dad had said that he was going to take all of the stuff over there but then he'd gotten a phone call and had to go back to the bank since there was a problem. That had been two weeks ago and apparently he had also forgotten.
So she was a senior, she was in the same grade as he was then. "Really, well so am I which means that we'll probably have some of the same classes together." He said and then looked up at the sky, he knew that it was supposed to rain tonight but right now the sky was perfectly blue.
((Gah, where is my muse today?))

Cameron smiled at him, and trailed off again. She had tried the whole, I'm-not-gonna-make-friends-and-maybe-mom-and-dad-will-feel-sorry-for-me-and-let-me-come-back thing, but it didn't break her mother. Instead, her mother decided to get her a new Blackberry. God, Cameron was spoiled, but not spoiled enough to go back. She had been sent here many because she had done something, which she refused to remember, and her parents sent her here. It was her last year here, so she figured that she might live this one well.
She let her hand fall to her side, oh well, he would deal with it. Sooner or later. Or maybe someone else would recycle it. She didn't recycle much, pop cans were the only thing that she ever recycled. "If you want too." She shrugged, whatever. She had just remembered something, her keys were in her car. Did she just lock her eyes in her car? She turned around suddenly, and then luckily, the car was still unlocked. That would have been another problem.
She turned to face Brenden again, and sighed happily. Thank God, there was no backup key to her car, and On Star wasn't apart of the packet either, even if it was, again, she had forgotten her phone in her dorm. She tucked her hands into the pockets on her light blue jeans. "Hopefully." She commented, she did want him to be in some of her classes. What electives had she signed up for, she would find that out later.
The conversation was slowly ending, she was determined to keep it alive. "So, what do you do for fun?" She hoped it didn't have to do with sports, that wasn't her favorite thing. The only sport she could watch without getting bored was volleyball, baseball was OK, only because she loved guys in those baseball pants, you just had to. She didn't know why, but she often dated left-handed pitchers, maybe because they were unique.

He knew that he'd probably forget about the bottle and it would sit in the back of his truck until somebody asked him why he had an empty bottle in the back. His truck was clean most of the time but there was some unneeded objects in it. Such as the CD player that he'd found underneath the passenger seat when he had been cleaning out his truck last weekend. He didn't even know where that had came from and now it was sitting on the kitchen counter waiting for somebody to claim it. Since he was sure that it wasn't his or at least he didn't think that it was. If nobody claimed it soon he was going to give it away to the first person he saw. Then again, Halloween was in a few months. Oh yeah, that would be fun he could just give it to the first person that came to the door. Then again, a ton of people would come to the house then since they'd expect getting one.
"Well, if you have any classes with me then you'd probably have one with Jordan. People think that we look exactly alike but there's a few differences." He said and knew that he probably should explain to her that Jordan was his best friend and probably the person that he hung out with the most. He then wondered what classes she had signed up for, probably psychology or something. Then again, she could have signed up for the gym class but he knew from experience that not a lot of girls were in that class for some reason. Usually the girls would be taking other classes such as art or something. But then again, you never knew perhaps this girl would be different yet he really didn't think so.
What did he do for fun? Well, that was a rather interesting question since there were a lot of different answers. "Well, I play basketball and things like that. But, I also go out to the beach and hang around out there. I do a lot of things besides that though but I don't think that you want to hear them all. I'm almost never inside of the house though." He said and wondered just how long he was inside throughout the day. Perhaps he was only indoors for a few hours each day, besides sleeping of course. After this he had planned on going back home and just laying around but now that he thought about it he hadn't been out to the beach in awhile and if he was really bored he could bring his puppy out there.

Cameron looked over at the parking lot. There were practically no cars. The only cars that were there probably were owned by the workers. She worked at Aeropostle, but she had a break until school started again, mainly because of her vacation to Hawaii. Her manager was so flexible for her schedule. But she never really had anything going on to cancel for lately, they had known about Hawaii for ever since January. But maybe, know she would be more busy, since she was actually trying to make friends this year.
She kept thinking about her electives. Oh, right, calculus, and choir were two of them. She didn't think that Brenden would be in Choir, the ratio was usually twenty to five. Guys never sang, yet most bands were all guys. "I think I signed up for Calculus, Choir," She paused, she really couldn't remember the other ones. "One of them has to do with history." It wasn't as much as a comment, it was more of question towards herself.
Jordan? Was this his friend? If they looked a like, it wouldn't really confuse her, she knew two identical twins, and she could tell them apart. There was always differences between people, like the younger twin was taller, and the older one was more into sports, and he was stupider. "Is Jordan your friend?" She asked. She could be a nosy person, but make it seem like she wasn't. But, she wasn't an actress, she just could be one.
She smiled. "Oh, I love beaches, even though we didn't have much in Colorado." Beaches were never in Colorado, her family went to California and Florida on vacation. But, barely never would she spend all day outside, unless there was a ton of things too do, and Cammy happened to love air condition. Beach volleyball was fun, she could do that. "Outside? You mean, in the sun, all day!" She said, joking around, he did seemed to have a great tan.

Ah, so there was a class right there then since he'd signed up for calculus. His dad expected him to take over the family's banking business since it was clear that Jake wasn't about to. Of course his older brother had never even been remotely interested in that. But once again he wondered why he kept thinking about him after all wasn't this the third time that he'd thought about him within the past ten minutes or so? Maybe it was because a few days before they'd gotten into a fight about a stupid thing. He'd been accusing of being too scared to date somebody and Jake had told him a whole entire theory that went along with that. It annoyed him that his brother would even think of something like that. Apparently he just had too much time on his hands. The scary thing was though, he knew that there was a good chance that he was right.
"Well, I'm taking calculus too. I don't think too many people are taking that class." He said and knew that the reason why there were so few people taking the class was probably because it was the hardest math class that the school offered. He didn't think that math was really that hard, you just had to work at it which meant you couldn't only study once and expect to pass a test. Well, unless you were one of those rare people who was like a sponge absorbing all of the information up. He then heard her question about Jordan. "He's my best friend actually and he probably would have been with me if he didn't have to run an errand for his dad." He said and wondered what time he would be back from that. Knowing Jordan, he'd probably speed and get back sooner then he expected him to. "Sometimes people in school even get us confused which is a little odd if you think about it. Since they've known me longer since Jordan moved here two years ago." He said and wondered why it was so hard to tell the difference between them.
There wasn't a lot of beaches here but there was a lot of lakes and some people around here owned their own lakes, like his grandfather. Of course, he was retired and when he wasn't out fishing somewhere he was on a trip out west or something. A few times he had went with him on those trips and the two of them had a lot of fun. "Yes, I mean out in the sun all day I don't burn so it's really easy just to spend the whole day outside." He said knew that there were some people around who would go outside for one day just to get tan. Since he was outside most of the time it appeared as if he just got back from a trip to Florida even in the winter. Of course his parents and his siblings and him usually went to Florida during the winter but that was beyond the point. He didn't have to go down there just to get a tan. "So, do you feel like going somewhere else. Or do you prefer talking to somebody in a parking lot?" He asked and then waited for her answer.

Math was the only thing she was good at, so she always tried to find the hardest. Everything else went through one ear, and out the other. She really should just do the pass or fail classes, where you turn in the work and pass, but her mother made her do important classes, and allowed her to have one pass or fail class. She had to go to college, for something, just having a degree would help her get a better job. There was this place in Colorado where you could get payed $30,000 a year for having a degree in anything, but she didn't want to work there, it was all night shifts sometimes.
She nodded, coming back to Calculus and Brenden. "Yeah, I heard it was hard." There was nothing like a great challenge. That's what her dad said, she would rather take the easy way out. So, Jordan was his friend. "Yeah, but if he was with you, you might not have saved my life." She said, going back to the Life Saver comment she had said earlier. Saving someones life was the best thing anyone could do, the best thing that ever happened to her. She smiled, "It shouldn't be that hard to tell the difference between you two." It wasn't that hard.
She knew there wasn't very many beaches, all Wisconsin had was lakes, but that was good enough. "No, outside is awesome, you can't live life without ever going outside, it's impossible." Chances are, it was possible, but she couldn't think of getting away from it. They were outside now. She listened to his question, and smiled. "I don't know, parking lots are pretty much the coolest thing in the world." She joked, with a smirk on her face. After awhile, she added. "I'd rather go somewhere else." Leaning against her car was getting kind of boring.
