Jessica shielded her eyes as she glanced up at the sun overhead. It was a typical summer day today, bright and hot. Perfect for practicing her favorite sport, soccer. Her hand then moved down and adjusted the position of her black messenger bag as she headed toward the familiar tree sitting in the corner of the big grassy park. She smiled slightly to herself as she bent down and set her bag in the shade. She then picked up the soccer ball she had held under her arm earlier and dribbled out into the sunlight. She paused to glance around for anyone who looked familiar but failed to recognize any faces. She brushed some brown hair away from her face and began to dribble the ball around the park.

[&&chil out, what's she yellin' for?;;]
ooc: I like short posts. That way, I don't have much to read.
I was a typical day for Declan Smithson, a bit boring, if you ask him. He couldn't really complain, though. At least he didn't have all his friends up in his face, making plans with him, without even asking if he was okay with them. It just wasn't too amusing when his friends just says, "Hey, what movie do you wanna go see tonight?" when he didn't even agree on watching a movie with them, and when he doesn't answer, it's basically that usual annoying answer, "You can decide when we get there...go to go".
The park seemed to be pretty full. Of course, it didn't come as too much of a surprize. It was Saturday and people were just having fun with their families, not having to worry about work or school. Bryce wished it was like that for him too, even when he's not in school, he has school work to finish up on. If it's not school work on the weekends, it's his job. Today, the teenager had on a black shirtshirt and faded jeans, though it was pretty hot outside for either of them. His skateboard was in one hand with his iPod in the other.
Back to the park....in which Declan was just roaming around until he found a nice shady tree. A messenger bag was under the tree, it seemed to look like his own at home...strange. He didn't bother minding the bag and just sat down, going through the list of songs on his iPod, not really bothering to look around anywhere.

Jessica moved around the park a little bit more and dribbled up towards the fence surrounding the basketball court. She stopped her ball and backed up with a slight grin. She paused and focused on the ball. Then she ran forward and her foot made contact. The ball drifted up into the air and with a CLANG it hit the fence and dropped down. Jessica smiled, satisfied at her shot, and retrieved her ball. She decided to grab some water and she began to head back over to the tree and her messenger bag. As she approached her bag her eyes spotted someone sitting right next to it. She jogged the rest of the way and came to her bag and the person residing next to it. "Umm... Hey?" she said in a puzzled voice as she knelt down to retrieve her water.

[&&if i ever fall in love again;;]
Just as he looked up, the teenager noticed a girl coming up to him. After she said hi to him, Declan didn't know what to say back. Kay, so some random chick decides to walk up to him and say hey in a confused kinda tone...why would she do that, he didn't know. When he noticed her reach down for her drink, Declan just managed to say something back, Hi, there he scooted over a little, and put his hands up so that she could see them.
Didn't know this was your bag...my bag; not that I went in it or anything Okay, just shut up, Declan. If she wanted him to go away, he'd say no, though it'd be kinda sure. Sure, he found the tree first, but he knew that this tree right here was the biggest and the shadiest tree in the park. No doubt, there are a bunch, but he didn't care; he'd sat down and had no plans of getting up anytime soon.

Jessica shoved he bag over to the side and set herself down next to it. So what if some guy was right there. She felt like sitting down and that was what she did. "Ummmm.. ok then. As long as my stuff is still there then I guess it's fine." She shrugged and took a long sip of water. She began to ponder whether to keep talking or not. If he wanted to, he would. She thought and instead decided to mess with soccer ball.

[&&i could be hurtful;;]
ooc: it's fine. i'm not gonna yell at ya, every one has their moments.
Alright. Declan actually thought the girl would flip out at him and freak out about the fact that some weird stranger was at her bag, but this was okay. He watched as she sat down right beside him. The girl reminded him of someone. Blue eyes, carries around a soccer ball, long hair, and not too girly looking. His twinsister. Declan put a smile on and turned her way.
I'm Declan At first, the teenager thought that it was weird who he just managed to introduce himself to some random person, but he seemes to be doing that a lot, so it doesn't really seemed like such a big of a deal. Declan stuck his hand out in front of her, still with the smile on his face, Do you play? well, it seemed to be a retarded question. Declan asked her if she plays right after she dribbled the ball around for a bit and is playing around with it, now. Of course, she totally did not play.

Jessica glanced up quickly and studied him. She set the ball down and shook his hand. "Jessica." she said with a slight grin. So let's see. At first she sees this guy sitting under her tree (well fine, its not hers but she goes there alot.) Then hes right next to her bag. And now shes talking with him. Typical day in her life. "Yeah, I play. Goalie mostly but also Defense sometimes. You?" She asked, returning her hand to her faithful soccer ball.

[&&i can tell you like me too;;]
Declan could tell that this girl probably thought he was some kind of weirdo. He didn't really care. He never really feels like one, even when it's the weirdest thing he can do, Jessica. Nice talkin' to ya he took her hand and then released it after a second or so. So she did play soccer. Not much of a surprize, but at least now he was sure. It wouldn't have been so stupid sounding if she really didn't play soccer, though.
Soccer? Him? Meh..., Um...not much. Sometimes with my sister, though it's not really my sport Basketball was his sport. Sure, his teammates at school were [bleep]s, but he really liked the sport. Declan wouldn't ever drop out just because he's not loved my his team. At least, his couch likes him and his reputation as a nice jock would be ruined. People wouldn't consider him popular.
He wouldn't have any friends and would be sitting by himself in the corner of the cafeteria at lunch, being regected by every single person that happens to pass by. Or worse...he gets kicked off the team! Gosh, he was reading into it too much. Declan should just stop, he really does go too far with his thinking, Do you play for Lakeland or something surely, this girl went to Lakeland, every single teenager in this area went to Lakeland and it'd just be a little sad if she didn't.

Jessica gave a smll smile and leaned back against the bark. Enjoying the cool shade on the hot summer day. "Cool. So I take that.... you play... um. Let's see. We've got Football, BasketBall, Baseball, Hockey, Anything else? Or did I already mention the right sport. Or is it none at all?" She said as she glanced over at him.'God, that sounded stupid.' she thought as she replayed her words again in her head. "Yeah, I go to Lakeland. Were you wishing I didn't?" She asked with a grin to anwser his other question. She smiled and looked up at the inside of the tree (As in like the well. When your against the trunk and you look up. Well she was doing that.).

[&&all this time you were pretendin';;]
Basketball Maybe this girl didn't care too much about basketball, he was well-known by anyone who'd even been to one basketball game over the summer. Baseball....he didn't really like it any more than he liked soccer. Well, honestly, Declan liked soccer a billion times better than he liked softball. In gym class, he was NEVER able to hit a baseball...ever and he didn't really care much about it. Looking up, the only thing he noticed was a squierl (i can never spell that word) making its way across a branch.
For some reason, when she looked up, Declan became curious about what was there as well, so he looked over and answered her question after a slight chuckle, No. I was just...my sister plays for Lakeland too, ya know Paige? Football wasn't really the best sport for Declan. He wasn't much of a runner. Nor could he ever make it across the feild without someone getting at him. 'Oh! look at me, I just ran fifty yards without even having a single person touch me! I'm soooo cool'...please.
[&&so much for my happy ending;;]

"Cool, Basketballs fun. I play with my friends alot." Jessica said. She liked basketball. It was fun. She wasn't that good, but she played it with her friends and her brothers alot. Ok, so she lost most of the time but whatever. Hey, a basketball player was better than a football player. She loved playing football for fun with her brothers but at school, some of the football players were just... Ugh. She didn't know, they just kind of felt like since they played on the football team they were on top of the school. Suddenly she heard a squirrel scamper up above her and she snapped back to life. "Let's see... Paige.... Smithson??? Yeah, I've heard of her. She's on the team with me." Jessica said as she reached for her water. She took a long sip. Enjoying the cool liquid on the hot day.

[&&hate is a strong word;;]
Declan looked over at Jessica and then straight ahead, Shweet So maybe Paige knew this girl, but he didn't? Maybe they were friends? Declan was sure that Jessica and Paige would get along nicely, Do you play good? he asked her, not been sure if he was specific or not, Basketball I mean Paige could easily beat Declan at basketball, but he wasn't sure if jessica here could do that.
It kinda sucks though, seeing as Paige doesn't really like playing basketball and she doesn't even TRY to beat him and it's usually sad when she beats him only in a nice one-on-one game. Watching her drink the cold water, the teenager began getting thirsty too and realized that he never brought a drink with him. He just looked ahead again and awaited an answer.
[&&but i really really really don't like you;;]

"Actually....." She paused, remembering the last time she played her brothers. Ah, yes. She remembered. They murdered her, like about every other time she played them. " Well.... I kinda well..... Suck." She grinned, so she sucked. Her brothers rubbed it in her face alot but she learned to shrug it off and be proud of failing many times. "But I'm fine with it. It's fun to play, and at least I get the ball to go in the hoop, just not as much as the person I'm playing does."
"How about you?" She asked, hoping to see if he was good. No matter what, he could probably beat her. As she awaited an answer her blue eyes scanned the park, she spotted the little kids running around happily in the grass. Then she moved on to watching the playground. She spotted the older kid playground and the little kid playground. She saw the kids in the little baby swings and the kids in the big swings and she watched them for awhile. Her eyes then moved to the kids going on the balance beam, always falling down but trying again. Her eyes went back to the swings though as she watched the kids pumping heir legs in a rhythm.
"Remember trying to go so high you'd flip over the top and go in a complete circle???" The question came out of nowhere from her mouth as her eyes lay fixed on the kids, while a hand came up and brushed her hair away from her face. "I never made it though. I'd always get yelled at before I did it. " She smiled and her gaze left the kids, instead now it looked down at the grass. She leaned back against the tree and began to pick at the green below her.

[&&we are more than just good friends;;]
Well, if this girl says she's not good, she must not be, but that's what Paige says to everyone too, Oh, i'm not that good. No one can beat me Please, if I basketball player can beat, then you're good at it, no joke. Declan chuckled when he said she sucked. Maybe she didn't and she was just saying that, just like his sister. Declan pretty much hated it when people did that, "Oh, i'm not really that good, I pretty much suck at it and you'd probably beat me if we play". You'd rather say nothing at all then just lie.
Me? Declan didn't really know what to say, he hated bragging, but he didn't want to tell her he sucks. You must be a total loser if you don't know how to play basketball and you're a guy. It's pretty much like a hispanic not knowing how to play 'football', or a little kid not knowing how to crawl. It just wasn't done, I, myself, play good, seeing as I am on the team for school
Just as he answered her, Declan heard another question. AFter listening to it, he managed to answer her, Ha, I do remember it Heck, he still tried to do it; but now he was just too heavy that it didn't excatly work, It'd hurt....real bad, if someone actually did it it kinda sucks though, Declan's always seen people attempt to go around all the way, but never really heard some kid actually doing it, without falling. If some kid really did ever get it, he'd be Declan's best little man ever, That was really random, dude reminded him of his sister again.
[&&and this is how the story ends;;]

"Good point" Jessica grinned as he mentioned being on the team. "Maybe I'll watch a game sometime." Once that came out, she regretted it and her grin faded. God, that sounded stupid. Well, whats done is done. Now she just hoped he didn't find it as stupid as she did. But well, she really did want to see a game sometime. It would be cool to see him play, plus she hadn't seen a basketball game in ages.
She heard the response to her other question, if you could call her babbling that, and looked up from the grass. "Yeah, it would hurt. But man... it'd still be awesome." In her mind, she wouldn't mind getting hurt. The whole part of flipping over the bar would just be flippin' cool. Soon she heard him speak again. He called her thought random, well. That was her sometimes. "Yup, I guess it was. I guess it was." Her voice drifted off. She was always random if a thought came into her head that she had to get out. "If you don't like random though, I suggest you leave then." She grinned and looked at him.
