One would wonder why Brenden ran as much as he did, after all he wasn't on the cross country team. Yet there was a very simple answer for that there was no way he'd even be on the football team, let alone the starting quarterback if he wasn't fit. Although he knew that a few people who actually wanted to be on team wondered why they never were and it was one simple answer, they'd show up and couldn't even run a few hundred yards. Of course, he knew that he was probably the only one who ran so many miles. Although, Jordan did but he himself had said that he could never win a distance race with him. Jordan was slightly faster though and he was on the track team during the spring. People had been wanting him to join the team for a long time but he never had. Jordan had asked him why he didn't want to join and he'd just given him a very simple answer. He just didn't feel like it although he knew that Jordan realized there was more to the story than that but he never had asked about it.
His brown eyes scanned the area that he was in. He was running along a small logging road that was deep in the woods. Sure it was rumored that there were ghosts back here but he wasn't scared. Yet he knew that if something happened then help was far away but nothing would happen, it wasn't like a ghost was going to attack him or something. People had said that Jordan and him looked like twins and he knew that they were right. Although he really hadn't taken the time to really study that statement until a few weeks ago. He himself was actually shocked that they looked so similar. One of the few ways to actually tell them apart was the fact that Jordan was an inch taller. What was funny was a few people had asked if they were twins when they'd been out of town and he simply pointed out to them that they had different last names. Although he did think that it was pretty funny that they thought that Jordan was his twin.
Today, Jordan was working at the dorms trying to fix things up in a couple of dorms that need remodeling. So he knew that he probably wouldn't call him until tonight. Since today was one of the days that he worked which meant that his dad wouldn't let him go until it was either dark outside or the job was finished. He looked around again, but he didn't know what he was looking for. Nobody ever came out here and he actually would be surprised if somebody did. Actually, he didn't run back here that often either but since Jordan wasn't with him he'd decided to go someplace else. It was only seven o'clock in the morning though so he knew that most people were probably still sleeping. He actually was running later then he usually did. Most of the time he would get up at five and be out the door at five thirty.
((It could be longer but my muse is a little tired today.))
