[We'll start a revolution] [And bring them to their knees]
iPods are amazing things. You cannot undermine the captiving spell of those little spin-dials. Their ability to completely dominate someone's attention, sometimes at hours at a time, was astounding. It went far beyond any NORMAL human's attention-catching factor. Yet, these things were so small they could fit into your pocket. Apple had latched onto a billion-dollar idea, and people all over the world were falling ever deeper into their lair.
Felix himself was one of these teenagers spiralling downward into an evil pit of music and spin-dials. His was green. =] He had seen a lot of red ones lately, and red seemed to be quite popular as the new alternative color. But he was happy with his little green iPod. Felix liked green. Green was a nice color, but maybe not his favourite. It was hard to pick a favourite. There was so many goddamn colors in the world... who invented them all? Crimson, scarlet, magenta, chartruese, lemon, violet, indigo, carrot, comic blue, royal blue, matte blue, cyan, dark wood brown, cornflower, china white... the list was never-ending. How were you supposed to pick a favourite? It was virtually impossible. But green was high up on Felix's list. Definitely.
He twirled his thumb along the aforementioned spin-dial, skimming past the bands he had captured on his little green friend. Stopping at Fort Minor, he picked one of Mike Shinoda's greatest: Remember The Name.
This is 10% luck 20% skill 15% concentrated power of will 5% pleasure 50% pain And 100% reason to remember the name
Oh, how he wished he had Mike's amazing ability to write such beautiful lyrics. The man was a god. Seriously. Felix himself was a lyricist for his own band, and took his job seriously. His idol was Mike Shinoda, and he vowed to live up to his skill. Big, big, BiG shoes to fill, but Felix would try his best.
This morning as he tramped like a loner through the deserted-for-summer-break campus he had decided to dress in his cardinal skinny jeans, Vans and a shirt. Today it was green. =] Coincidentally. A green shirt, with a small swirl design on the right shoulder, that travelled all the way down his back to end in a tiny logo that stated, "The All-American Rejects." He liked that band, but they weren't his favourite. They were pretty good though. But he mainly liked the shirt. And NOT just because it was green.
He looked slightly lonely, but certainly didn't feel so, as his skinny, emorexic frame moved with a graceful, limber stride across the grass. Absorbed in his iPod searchings, he neither would have noticed nor seen somebody enter the campus. His dark brown locks, styled adorably with a fringe, were in their usual bed-head style, yet evidently brushed. A thick lock of fringe fell over the boy's dreamy brown eyes as he continued his walk towards nothing.
[You know this will be] [A shakedown] [Shakedown baby]

[Rock and roll honey, don't you know baby]
The young blonde walked across the grass, head down, watching one foot fall after the other, her bright Murphy eyes shining as she watched grass, following grass, and more grass. Turning her head slightly, she looked at the faintly squashed patch of grass where her foot had been less than a few seconds ago, and turned her head back straight, to her path to nowhere. Her head began to bob in tune to the familiar tune of Paramore beating in her ears, a song she rather did like. In her hand, a small blue ipod nano was held, clasped tightly, with her brightly blue painted nails to match.
Darcy Elise Murphy was one who liked to match her clothes accordingly to her mood. Even though blue was a sort of feeling blue colour, Darcy pulled it off to make it look happy. She was probably a bit overdressed for walking around the school, going nowhere, but hey, clothes were made to be worn, weren’t they? Her attire for the day was a light blue miniskirt, ruffled in layers. Under that, she was wearing black and white striped leggings, and on her feet, a pair of well loved Chuck Taylors. Even though they were faded immensely, they were still one of Darcy’s favourite pairs of shoes. On her top, a plain white top was worn, but she was wearing layers of blue beads, and a chain, with a heart pendant on the end. Her wrists were full of small chains, but her eye makeup was probably the thing that stood out the most on her. Maybe apart from her light blonde hair. Her shiny blue eyes were drawn around lightly in a black eyeliner, and her eyes were shadowed in a bright blue powder. She could easily pass for sixteen or seventeen, even though she was rather short. But no, she was only fifteen. Almost sixteen.
Today, Darcy had nothing to do, apart from go to school. School was such a drag for Darcy, she would rather be somewhere else, having fun. The only reason she come to school was to eat her lunch. No joke. Sometimes to see her friends. But mainly the reason stated above. But today, she had already eaten her lunch. She had been hungry. Now all she had to snack on was gum. Hardly something that fills you up, but, still gives you something to do. Her favourite bit of the song approached, and she began to quietly sing along. She always seemed to forget that when you were listening to your ipod, not everyone else around you could hear the music, so it sounded like you were simply walking along, singing. Not that Darcy was a bad singer. She was actually rather good. Not that she liked to admit it.
This time we're not giving up, Let's make it last forever, Screaming "Hallelujah". We'll make it last forever.
Then, She somehow remembered that she was the one singing, and, nobody else could hear the music. Glancing up, she looked around to see if anyone had heard her. Thankfully they hadn’t. She continued her walking, strolling along to the beat. Then all of a sudden, she bumped into something of a taller frame, and was thrust backwards. Her temper snapped, and as she was about to start giving the person a good telling off on to watch were they were going, she stopped. Not even realizing that her ipod had been knocked from her grasp, she looked at the handsome stranger who she had walked into. Instead of snapping, which was something Darcy would usually do, she apologized. Like she was in some sort of trance. Then she began to talk to this guy, but stopped after her name. She forgot what to say next. xD
”Ahh, sorry. I’m Darcy.”

[This was no accident] [This was a therapeutic chain of events,]
Dum, dum, dum. Felix had finished Remember The Name, and was looking for something else. He stuck his bottom lip out thoughtfully in an adorably cute pouty face as he scrolled quickly down the list of bands. The sight of his thumb whizzing around the circle gave him a very bad urge to yell out "WHEEEEE!" really loudly. He fought the urge, however, because he had just spotted a blonde-haired girl walking around on the other side of the campus, and he thought that if he suddenly burst out with a tremendous "WHEEEEE!" she would think he was a nutter, and then she would tell all her friends, who would tell their friends, and then everyone would know and he'd suddenly get the nickname 'Felix the Nutter', and no-one would talk to him or sit with him at lunch, except Ryan and Athena, but then they would leave him because they would get teased for hanging out with the nutter.
And that would suck. So that's why he didn't yell out "WHEEEEE!".
Stopping at the 'P's, he selected Paramore and chose 'Hallelujah'. Pressing 'Play', he dawdled along rather contendedly, looking up at the clouds and trying to identify whether or not a certain cloud was a giant carrot or a chimney with smoke coming out the top. Just as he was deciding on the carrot, a small person promptly collided with his torso. For some reason his mind went to Riley Addison, who had a rather strange habit of smashing into people's chests or backs a lot, but when he looked down, he was greeted by a shock of white-blonde hair and massive blue eyes. Shirley Temple flew to mind.
The girl seemingly stopped and stared up at him, transfixed, and Felix felt rather uncomfortable. She spoke abruptly, and a smile was plastered on her face. She had a voice similar to Athena's... strange.
"S'alright. No harm done."
He spoke in his slight drawl. He grinned reassuringly at her, and patted her awkwardly on the shoulder as an acceptance of her apology. His chocolate orbs were drawn down to her bright blue iPod, and seeing the screen lit up with exactly the same song as he was listening to, Felix's eyes widened. Weird.
"Paramore, hey? You like them?"
[OOC__ Ew, ew, ew. Writing on no muse is baaaad.]

[ Cause I'd rather waste my life pretending ] [ Than have to forget you for one whole minute ]
All of a sudden Darcy felt slightly stupid. She was transfixed on this guy, who she had never even seem before, and the uncomfortable look on his face let her know that he was obviously feeling, well, uncomfortable. But, when he began to talk, she went off into that trance again. Gosh. Silly teenagers, thinking they were in love. But Darcy did believe in love at first sight. And to Darcy, this was love. Well, as much as she knew it. Not knowing what to say as he accepted her apology, she just smiled. If this guy was anyone else, Darcy probably would of expected him to be the one that apologized. But obviously not here.
All of a sudden, when he sort of tried to pat her on the shoulder, it sent tingles all through her body. Its not although Darcy hadn’t liked a boy before, or gone out with one, it was more like every time Darcy found a new guy she liked, she was sort of joint to him in a bond that he might not understand. It wasn’t really her fault that she liked this guy, and, that it had happened so soon, its not like you wrote down on a piece of paper who you wanted to like, and all of a sudden, wow, you liked him! As he talked again, she turned her bright blue eyes to his face, and smiled. He had amazing hair. It was really awesome. AWESOME. Listening to his voice once again, she sort of listened, and sort of didn’t. Then, she come back to earth, and his expectant face wanted an answer. Hurridly, she replied.
”Paramore? Yeah, they’re awesome! You like ‘em?”
She replied, probably taking a bit fast. Gosh, why couldn’t she just act normal around this guy? Then, her mind sort of spoke without her control, and she felt herself blush slightly. That’s the amazing thing. Darcy never blushed. This conversation was probably really uncomfortable for this guy. Oh no.
”I like your hair.”
[ Sorry about this post. I’m sick. =( ]

i NOTiCED YOUR EYES ARE ALWAYS GLUED TO ME KEEPiN' THEM HERE AND iT MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL It suddenly occurred to Felix that he had been incredibly rude to this girl. They had both been absorbed in their iPods and had both smashed into each other, so they were both as guilty as each other, yet she was the only one who had said sorry. Felix felt ashamed of himself. His mother, who was a stickler for impeccable manners, had drilled the proper etiquette into him before he had managed to escape, and he used it now, acting the perfect gentlemen as opposed to the rude Felix just a few seconds before.
"Oh, gosh, I am so sorry, I was so rude. I'm really sorry for bumping you, it was my fault. I'm Felix, by the way. You have a pretty name. Gosh, I was so rude. Forgive me."
He felt terribly bad now, and bit his lip worriedly, until he saw that the girl was transfixed on him and probably wouldn't notice if an alien landed on her head and started doing an Irish jig. Felix felt uncomfortable, for he was never good with attention - a very strange thing for the lead guitarist of a band, but that was why he'd given the frontman spot and endless spotlight that went with it to Ryan, who was much more comfortable in the limelight than he - but shrugged it off, his disgust with his own rudeness overcoming it.
He smiled in relief as she answered his enquiry about Paramore with extreme enthusiasm. He grasped on the subject with relief, as he was always uncomfortable talking with unknown girls, especially pretty ones, as this Darcy, was it, was. He had been telling the truth about her having a pretty name. When he was in first grade he had had the biggest crush on a girl called Darcy, and one time Ryan had dared him to go talk to her. The first-grader Felix had marched up to Darcy and opened his mouth, but when she turned to look at him with her huge baby blue eyes, Felix got so nervous he did the most embarrassing thing ever; he peed his pants. Ryan, Spencer and Jon had cacked themselves laughing and the entire class saw Felix's shame. He ran to the toilets and the teacher had to get him spare pants out of the lost property box. They were about four sizes too big for him and he had swum in his gigantic trousers all day long, while his friends laughed themselves stupid for about a week. Occasionally Ryan would bring it up in conversation and start pissing himself with laughter again while Felix sat there, red-cheeked and mortified.
Memories like that never fade. =/
"I love them. They're such an awesome band."
He said. He had a lot of respect for Darcy now. She evidently had a very refined taste in music. ;] Just then, his new acquaintance blurted out something that apparently had come from her head to her mouth without her thinking, and Felix looked pleasantly surprised. He loved compliments about his hair. It was his favourite thing about him, and adored it when people showed affection towards it. He sub-consciously lifted a hand to touch it, and his ever so annoying fringe fell down in front of one eye for the umpteenth time that day. He shook his head slightly to the side and smiled down at Darcy. His next comment was very true, because her shock of white-blonde hair was exceptionally pretty. Much like another beautiful girl he knew... Darcy's resemblance to Athena continually shocked him. O.o
"Thank you. I like yours too. =]"

LOVE AT FiRST SiGHT..♥ [/COLOR] Her large blue eyes were completely focused on him, but even though he or she wasn’t talking at the moment, she was still completely obsourbed in what she was doing. Soon though, she realized that she was staring, and her cheeks began to draw pink into them, contrasting against her pale skin. It wasn’t exactly really pale, it was just not really tanned. But she was going to work on that here, Lakeland was apparently a great place to go the brown you desired, well, apparently so, as Athena had told her. That was one of the reason Athena’s body was a much more fuller colour than Darcy’s. It must fo also been because of Athena’s mother, who was a model. If they shared the same mother, maybe they would look more alike, but they did look pretty similar anyway. They obviously both took from their father. Snapped back into consciousness when the muchly smexy boy began to talk, she began playing what he had said over a few times in her head before replying. Felix, Felix, Felix.
”It’s okay. Honestly. Felix, that’s an awesome name. Thanks. Its short for, oh, never mind..”
She finished her sentence in a rush, kind of forgetting that she had began to tell him her real name. As much as she hated it, it stuck with her, until she was eighteen and could change her name for real. Nobody ever called her Darnelle, and if they did, they would suffer the consequences. Darcy was quite a unique name for a girl, she didn’t know one other girl with the same name. Only a guy or two. She hadn’t really heard of Felix’s name much, which made them have their first thing in common. Uncommon names. Still unknowing that she was obviously making Felix feel very uncomfortable, as she was staring at him, she finally realized and turned her gaze away. Darcy wasn’t shy, she was far from it. That was probably why she was already chatting away to Felix like she had known him all her life. Apart from the words she was speaking, she was talking to him like she would talk to anyone else. Apart from the face her heart was going a mile a minute. Damn.
When the topic of Paramore began, she actually was interested. They were one of her favourite bands at the time, and she loved most of their songs. Wait, rephrase that. All of their songs. She could listen to them over, and over and not get bored of them for quite a long time. And then, after listening to another song, she could put Paramore straight back on. She reminded herself to stop staring at Felix. Sure, it was evident that she liked him, and he probably realized that, but she didn’t need to go and stare at him. A photographic memory. Haha.
”Ah, so you must have a good taste in music then?” [/color] She asked sweetly. Now this was more like what she was like with people, asking them straight out blunt questions, which could be hard to answer if you took it the wrong way. But, if you thought about it carefully, her questions were pretty simple. It was probably more the sweet tone in her voice that made it evident that she was trying to impress, but who knows. Felix could be completely oblivious to it. =] ”Aww, thanks. I guess its okay.”[/b] She replied, a smile beginning to turn the corners of her glossed lips upwards. Felix was too nice for his own good.[/center][/size][/blockquote]
