The food. It's radioactive, I swear. And as Maya Folten prodded the mashed potatoes with a plastic fork, she was prompted to exclaim, "It's radioactive , baby!" And so it was. Perhaps there was no kind of faint greenish glow radiating from the brownish gray gruel-like substance, but it was not particularly appetizing either. And you can just imagine Maya's expression as she tentatively poked the stuff, her face wrinkled up with distaste. Her dark eyebrows almost met in the middle of her forehead, as she gazed at it, almost intrigued by how little it looked the food it was called. She averted her eyes for a moment. I'll even go so far to say that she rested her eyes by casting them away from her tray. Which led her to the even more intriguing thought of the fact that maybe she would do well to not actually buy lunch from school. It was so deeply dissatisfying. And it would undoubtedly meet her stomach, promptly decide it'd rather not be there, and then make a reappearance later on, perhaps if she was lucky, all over her agenda book. Oh, wouldn't that just make her day?
But now I'm blabbering. And that does nothing but take up space, which is not necessarily a bad thing, I must say. Maya, as she sat there, head bowed over her unsatisfactory meal was wearing her customary dark skinny jeans. A brilliant black and white polka dotted line of cloth intersected her pants and her bright orange tank top. It was undoubtedly the shirt she was wearing beneath said tank top, because Maya was going for, as some would say "the layered look." She was doing it quite effectively, as well. A jeweled necklace hung slightly on her pale neck, and her tangled black hair covered most of her slightly disgruntled face. It was rather of a nuisance, and she had shoved it behind her ear, though it was not doing al ot to tame the dark mess. Her heart shaped face was downward cast, expressive black eyes with much dislike in them. And here she sat, alone, looking rather pathetic. One could argue she was waiting for someone, but truthfully Maya realized that she greatly preferred sitting alone to sitting with a group of people whom she mostly disliked.
There was not a lot going on right now in Maya's life. Her best friend was pregnant, and as to when she was returning to school, Maya had no clue. Other than that, her friends included Brendon Erickson, (and of course, she had no incentive to approach "the jocks" table and be stared at with cold eyes) and arguably Galen Hay. That was Maddie's fiance, and they'd come to a stubborn sort of indifference. Of course, she could spot him, with his vibrant blue eyes, and his mop of dark messy hair, not altogether different than her own, but he had his own friends. So there she sat, alone and not completely friendless, though very close to it, waiting for school to really start for her. She'd been there for almost two years, yet she still had a select group of friends, that rarely expanded to lunch time. She shrugged inwardly and took a sip of milk, swallowing heavily. She was quite used to solitude. And if now was no different, then so be it.
[|]ohohsee: see? no muse... short post, but I still ended up blabbering =[

Chasity walked through the lunch line. Her blue jeans nearly dragging on the floor, and her combed hair slightly touched her dark green tank top with another white tank top worn underneath. She sighed as the lunch lady plopped mashed potatoes onto the tray. Chasity gave a rude smirk at her, and the lady gave one back. She quickly moved along to the next lady, who plopped something which looked like it was looking straight at Chasity. Chasity nearly dropped her tray and ran for the lunch room door. It was really gross. She knew she should have just skipped lunch and gone to the library or something. Or work on the Urban Dictionary that her and Eden started a few nights ago. Then a sudden thought came to her mind. Where was Eden? She hadn't seen him in a few days and even though she just met him she wondered if he was alright.
Chasity looked around the lunch room just to see if Eden was there so she could sit with him. Didn't he go to this school? Hmm? Chasity hadn't made any other friends lately and she had no one to talk to anyways. She finally got to pay for the gross lunch. And just went to a table which a girl sat at since the other tables were full. Even though it didn't matter where she sat because no one knew her. Chasity nearly threw the tray onto the table and just sat there. But instead she asked the girl if she could sit there or if it was reserved for someone else. "Hi, umm could i sit her?"she said asked. She didn't bother asking if it was reserved it did sound kind of rude when she thought of it in her head.

But was the steady drone of the day suddenly broken? Oh yes, it was! An elated expression settled itself on Maya's features, but it seemed to alienate them more, making them waxy and vampire like. Yet it was not altogether an unusual occurance for it to be there. Leaving us to ponder the wonders of Maya Ann Folten's face, she stared up, her thin pale lips splitting into a small grin. "By all means," she said, scooting over on the bench and patting the seat beside her. Perhaps this girl, like her own self, also had friends, that were perhaps currently busy with whatever other affaires they possessed. Perhaps she was sitting with Maya more out of self pity than anything. Yet the teenager did not find her company at all bothersome, and was intending to make an effort to be friendly.
The poigent smell of the cafeteria had begun to make Maya feel slightly sick to her stomach, and the combined scent and view of the lovely mash potatoes sitting before her, was simply to much. She pushed the tray away, staring distastefully at it from a distance, before turning her wide dark eyes to the other girl that now sat opposite her in the lunch table. My names Maya, by the way. Maya Folten." Ah yes, petty introductions. They were undoubtedly the most annoying part of what could become a deeply profound conversation. Because this girl, sitting across from her, staring at the watery substance before her with almost the same contempt Maya had beheld, intrested her somewhat. In fact she rarely found herself so intrigued by a fellow stranger, unless that stranger was Maddie, who was really no longer a stranger but a close friend. Woo. Run on sentence. Sorry about that.
Once again, Maya pondered Maddie's sudden dispapearance, with furrowed eyebrows. She was quite firmly lost inside herself, when she startled herself out of the reverie, and once again realized she had company that may not've been used to strange silences. However, these silences were unfortunately common when dining with Maya, she realized sadly, and with that parting thought, she left her own head, and returned firmly to the cafeteria. Now it was then that some sort of follow up comment to the introduction should be said. Biting her lip, Maya once again, searched for something relevant to say. She was surely queen of, well, randomosity for lack of a better word. She could come up with the oddest segways, that left the others head spinning. Yet at this moment, she wanted nothing more than the most mundane, the normalist comment to ever enter her head.
"I'm a senior here... I think I've seen you before." Oh jeez. What an excellant banter. It was a surprise some sort of game show didn't swoop in and pick her up for her quick thinking. Not that she'd ever been the most witty little thing ever. But still, a new low had been reached. Over thinking the whole situation was quite a strength of Maya's and she was definitely exhibiting this quality to its max. Oh well. Not much could be done there. She refocused her gaze on the other girls face, and waited for an answer, pale features expectant.

Chasity took a seat with a smile and looked at the gross lunch in front of her and stuck her tongue out at it. Who could possibly eat that stuff? She rather starve. And Chasity had to look around and see who was eating it. And lucky enough someone was, plenty of kids. Well maybe it actually did taste good. But the smell and look of it was unbarring. She sighed, and picked up the juice box which she had picked up before paying her food, and sat it in front of her. Then she pushed the tray softly to the other side of the table, or just far away from her which ever one. And stuck a straw into the juice. Then she turned her attention to the girl, who introduced herself as Maya. " I'm Chasity Renolds. And i am a junior her. It's nice to meet you"she said with a nod. Gosh to think of it Chasity was starting to make a new friend. Which was really good, based on that she had no history of anything here in this town. And now that she thought of it, it was really unusual in that town. The night that she walked to Eden's house it was really dark and creepy out. No one was even out there. Well on that lady walking her dog that time of night and the guy or kid riding the bike. It was reallllyy weird that, and Chasity was just starting to get creeped out. She wondered what her next day would be like here at this school. Hopefully fun, making new friends, and not to humdrum and dead. She kind of sighed and took another disgusting look at the tray she pushed away from her a few minutes ago. She couldn't believe people would even eat that stuff. It was sick, gross, and smelly. The whole lunch room was full of loud talking, and smelly lunch stuff or things wondering around on peoples trays. What a weird day? What a weird lunchroom? She hoped she wouldn't live her everyday life like this because it was really disgusting.

((Let me spice it up abit XD))
Jesse groaned as he sat at a lunch table in the far corner of the room, he hated school, evything about it ... except the girl, he smiled as he locked eyes with Maya, he stopped everything, just staring into her brown orbs, Jesse was a handsome boy, very bad and plays in a band, the boy any girl would want, girls would give anything just to go out with him, but he wanted sumone who cared about him, not his looks.
why do i always end up liking every girl i see Jacob?"
He asked as he looi\ked to the black hair boy, Jacob was the drummer in Jesse's band, and a best friend. Jacob frowned
No idea, and why are you asking me?
he asked jesse with amusement
