Maddie followed Galen out of the crowded dance room, allowing herself to be led. She felt like she was floating. She also felt as though everyone in the room was staring at her, knowing very well that she usually did the leading. She felt a funny feeling in her stomach, none of which she'd felt before. Her heart raced in her chest, seeming to run an invisible race. The cool night air was like a slap in the face to Maddie. She closed her eyes and took a deep, long breath, but yet... nothing could shake this feeling from her. And despite the fact that it was cool & slightly breezy, Maddie felt completely warm. She felt herself take a step toward Galen. She stared up at her, smiling slightly.
"You're welcome," she said back to him, speaking no louder than he. She stared up at him, the moon bright and full behind them. Maddie blushed under his gaze and looked away for a moment. She felt liked a caged lion. She hadn't come to the club to meet a nice, charming man and practically fall in love with him. She had come here to hook up with a guy & do her normal stuff. But something had snapped inside of her while she was dancing with Galen. She wasn't sure what it was, so she stole a glance at Galen. She smiled to herself and then turned to face him again. Wanting to break this spell, Maddie did what she thought she needed to do: she stood up and planted her plump lips on Galen's. She savored his sweet taste, falling even more for him. When she pulled back from him, she bit her lip... but the sensations still stayed with her.
She just hoped that Galen would, too.

Galen could still feel the warmth of Maddie's kiss, long after her lips had left his. It left him with a sort of idyllic feeling, and he gazed at her, unable to believe the strength of his emotions after just one night. She was a slut. There was no doubt about it. She came to this club to find a boy, sleep with them, then be done. But perhaps, just this once, it was different. Galen knew that he had never felt this way before, and now, holding Maddie in his arms, he felt so many emotions. There was only one thing that seemed proper to do.
Galen pressed his lips to hers once more, leaning into his kiss, and knowing that he was smiling as he did so. He held Maddie, so happy, with a feeling of serenity, as if even if someone jumped from the roof above, or if a car crash occurred below, at least he and Maddie would be together. Galen closed his eyes, feeling thoughts chase into his consciousness. Thoughts of the strangest things, like, "what will my sister think?" and things such as vague as, "I wonder if I smell terrible." Though truly, he didn't care. Because at that moment, kissing Maddie with so much passion, everything was good in the world.

[[OOC: Haha. I love Galen's thoughts ]] Maddie's earlier intentions faded when Galen kissed her a few seconds later. This kiss was harder and seemed to hold more potential. Maddie had her eyes closed lightly, feeling flighty & giddy as their second kiss lasted much longer than the first. Maddie wrapped her arms around Galen's neck, pulling him down closer to her. She still stood on the tips of her feet, but she liked the feeling of reaching for something... something that she wanted to stay close to her. Maddie pushed hard to Galen's lips, opening her mouth. Galen tasted sweet and Maddie wanted to keep him there with her, like that, forever. Sadly, though, oxygen was a vital part of life. And if one didn't receive the proper amount of oxygen... well, things didn't turn out so nicely. Maddie slowly pulled back from Galen, lingering on his kiss for a moment longer. When air hit her lips, she sucked in hard, filling her lungs up. She kept her arms around Galen's neck, but planted her feet back on the ground. She smiled at him, looking him in the eyes. Someone left the club and music filled Maddie's ears for a second before the door shut behind the person. Maddie glanced over at the person. He was a tall Italian guy. Maddie knew him instantly as he pulled out a smoke. He glanced at her, but barely acknowledged her. She held her breath, glitches of That Night swarming in her brain. Maddie glanced up at Galen. She stepped closed to him. The wind blew and some of a cigarette smoke floated over to Maddie & Galen, filling their noses. "It's nice out tonight...," she whispered weakly, glancing over at the road below them.

He nodded, a content smile stretching out across his face. He glanced at his watch, taking quick note of the time, then turned back to her, wondering where to go next. It was slightly past 12, and Galen felt wide awake, a heavy club vibe running through him. He gulped for a moment, almost the awkward boy man he had been when he arrived. But when he spoke, his tones were soft and sweet, like the light breeze that passed over them now, just kissing the tops of their heads. "I-I think I'm in love," he said, the expression on his face of dazed serenity.
A loud ripping noise from inside the club caused Galen to tear his gaze away from Maddie's face. "Dammit," he whispered, and left her for a moment to take a look inside. What appeared to be happening was something of a bar fight. A ring of people had formed around two girls who, with much shrieking struggle appeared to be trying to hurt any part of each other's bodies. One of them glanced in Galen's direction, her blue eyes oddly familiar. The girl's chestnut hair was shoulder length, and slightly lighter than Galen's. Her lanky frame had to be atleast 5'10, and she fought, entwined around the other beneath her, punching any part she could reach.
Wait, that looked a lot like- "KARINA!" Galen screeched, his expression of happiness quickly dissolving into one of rage and disappointment. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" Galen yelled, and pulled his sister out of the middle of the circle. "AND YOUR THE ONE WHO SAID YOU HAVE TO WATCH OUT FOR ME?! AND HERE YOU ARE GETTING IN SOME KIND OF DRUNKEN BAR FI-" Galen let off, for the expression on his sister's face was of so much amusement, it had taken the words right from his lips. "What are you smiling at?" he asked, narrowing his eyes. "I saw youuuu," she sung, and with that she disappointed into the crowd of people that had slowly come over to see what he was shouting about.
Galen returned to Maddie, who was peering in anxiously from the door. "Er... that was my sister," Galen said, ashamed of her behavior, but more of his own than anything. An eighteen year old yelling at his older sister. Well, that had to be a new one. He sighed, hoping she wouldn't mind. He decided to explain to her why he had blown up. "Well, you see she's always given me a hard time, calling me her baby brother and everything, and it just pisses me off so..." he trailed off, biting his lip.

Maddie's soft curls blew lightly around her face as she stood with her back to the way of the breeze. She ignored her hair flying all over. The breeze slowly died and Maddie listened to Galen's words. She said his name over and over in her head, almost as if it were a prayer. A smiled tugged at the corners of her mouth. No one had ever said Those Words to her. Nor had she ever said Them to another person. Maybe her sister Kelly, and possibly her parents, but never like that.
"I think I am, too," she replied. "In love, I mean." She bit her lip and looked away from Galen, feeling almost awkward. She glanced at the Italian guy who was earnestly watching her. She looked back at Galen and was about to tell him something, but then there was a crash inside the club and Galen ran off. Maddie watched him go. She stared at the door as long as she could before tearing her eyes from the door and then looking at the Italian guy. Alec.
"Hey, baby," he said in a dark voice to her. Winking, he threw his cigarette butt on the ground and mushed it with his foot, grinding it into the ground, not caring if he hurt it or not. Just like he'd done to Maddie. "Still playing your game?" He walked up to Maddie and put his face close to hers. "Leadin' 'em on, then lettin' 'em go?" He kissed her cheek, his bread scrapping against her cheek. He then leaned toward her ear and whispered, "You're gonna get what you deserve. Just like you got with me, baby." He stepped back, looked at her scared face and then spit to the side of her. Turning around, Alec walked toward the doors and pushed through them, disappearing into the roaring crowd. Maddie heard a guy yelling - and she thought it sounded like Galen. Moments later, Galen walked through them.
"Does your sister get into bar fights a lot?" she asked, trying to joke with him. But, really, she was trying to shake the scare off that Alec had planted into her. She smiled at him. "And it's alright. Was that you yelling at her?" She paused, looking through the windows of the double, swing doors. "I understand. My brother... he's kind of the same way...." Her voice trailed off, but she stared at the boy in front of her. The boy whom she felt as though she'd known forever. The boy who she knew would protect her. The boy who hopefully wouldn't leave her side. The Boy.

[[ooc: HA! the boy. its his nickname xD]]
"She's a bit more of a party animal than I, I admit," he said, an easy smile lighting up his previously agitated features. "And yes, I was yelling at her. It's hard finding your older sister fighting when she's always telling 'don't do this, don't do that, you might get in trouble.' But I know, she does it because she cares about me. And for her, that's enough. It's hard for her to er... stay focused on one task, let alone care about something for some time. She gets frustrated too easily sometimes, but I love her." Galen paused, wondering whether he had elaborated slightly too much. But he didn't care. He felt so comfortable now with Maddie, he found it hard to believe that he had only met her a short time ago, and when he had, he had been extremely awkward.
Galen grasped her hand, almost steadying himself, then glanced suspiciously at a large balding man staring at them from the corner of his eye. It diverted his attention, and he turned back to Maddie, speaking in a whisper. "Do you know that man?" he asked, biting his lip. Why? Why did things always seem to be ruined, especially when he was feeling so content. Who was this man, and why was he so suspicious of him?

[[OOC: Yupyup.]]
Maddie laugh, her bright & large smile peeking out from under her scared exterior disposition. She nodded, understanding completely from where The Boy was coming from. "I know what you mean," she told him. "I have an older brother... and he's awesome; I love him a lot. He's constantly telling me what to do, what not to do, how to go about something if there's a large risk I might get caught and all that good stuff." She stopped and took a deep breath, but then plunged right now. "He doesn't really have a problem focusing, though. Only when he's loaded down with work and then my parents call him to complain about me." She shook her head. "Honestly, you can't be much of parents if you call your eldest child to control your other child." She rolled her eyes, hatred filling her body as she thought of her parents. She certainly hadn't turned out as they had expected.
Maddie had to lean close to The Boy in order to hear what he was saying next. Her heart fluttered in her chest and she glanced over to the side of them, noticing that Alec had returned again. She swallowed hard, trying to push down the fear that was rising in her throat. She shook her head. "No," she lied, her voice shaking. She shook her head firmly again. "No, no. I don't know him." She looked back to Galen and shook her head again, trying to remove the images in her brain from That Night. She cleared her throat. "Is something the matter? We can leave if you want to...." She hoped that he would agree and forget about Alec.

"Yea sure, we can do whatever you want." His tone was light, but beneath it it was a little bit reserved. Some suspicion tinted it as well. "We could head back to my place or, whatever really..." he trailed off, watching her closely. Her previous fiery manor seemed to have dissapeared in the short time in which he had left to go see Karina. She seemed a little bit more reserved, and a little bit less outgoing. Galen was slightly worried, so he leaned in towards her and whispered so only she could hear.
"Did something happen between you and that man? Did he hurt you?" He was genuinely concerned for her safety, and his blue eyes were full of worry. Perhaps he had only known her for a short time, but he already felt like he had to protect her from those who would try to bring her down. He watched her, waiting for the smallest change in her expression.

Maddie stared at Galen as he spoke and out of the corner of her eye, she saw Alec disappear again. He was slick like that; she hated it. "My parents think I'm staying at my friends house," she explained to him. "So, that would be great if we could head to your house.... Or we can stay here and dance a little more. I don't care what we do." She smiled at him. Normally, she would have jumped to go to a guy's house, but she didn't want to push things with Galen. Then again, he was the one who invited her over. She hoped that if they headed to his house... that nothing serious would happen [AKA sex]. She wanted this relationship to last longer than a night. She wanted Galen to hold her in his arms... forever.
Thinking about that, she swallowed hard. Being in a relationship, she knew, meant being honest. She didn't want to end up like her parents: unhappily married with 4 kids who resented them and having an affair left and right. So she held her head high and looked Galen in the face, determined to be strong.
"He was the man who raped me," she said, her voice loud, clear and strong.

Galen tried not to let his expression turn too fearful. After all, he was supposed to be a strong man. But he could not help be astounded at the predicament Maddie found herself in. From that moment on, Galen realized he had to protect Maddie. She was so terribly vulnerable in a home like hers, with parents that seemed not to care. His blue eyes softened and he touched Maddie's arm, letting her rest her head on his shoulders. "That will never, ever happen to you again," he said, the tone of finality perfectly clear in his low voice. "I promise."
And the two sat there for a moment, Maddie's head craddled against Galen's shoulder. Galen put his head down slightly to kiss Maddie softly on the head. His expression was of genuine concern, and when he turned back to her, his eyes were darkened, worried. "Let's go to my place. You can stay there for a couple of nights if you need to." He waited for her to be lift her head off of his shoulder, than made his way slowly back to his car, his hand finding her's almost immediately.

"Thank you," Maddie said as she walked next to Galen, gripping his hand. She kept looking straight, allowing Galen to lead her anywhere. As long as she was with him, she felt safe, protected and as if nothing in the world could keep her from feeling that. But, most of all, she felt happy. Like a part of her was filled that she had been lacking before. "Tonight should be okay." She looked up at him and smiled. They walked out of the hot, bouncing club and the night air blasted down on them.
Maddie continued to walk next to Galen, bringing herself closer as a slight breeze picked up. "Hey, Galen?" she asked into the dark. Without waiting for an answer, she went on. "I just want to tell you... that I never told anyone that before. You were the first person to know." She paused and thought about it more. "I geuss I deserved it." She stopped again and tears sprang to her eyes, but she moved her head in a way so that Galen wouldn't be able to see her cry. "There's so much I need to tell you," she told him, trying to keep her voice steady.
With her other hand, Maddie reached up to her face and wiped away her tears. She cleared her throat and tucked her brown curls behind her ear. She closed her eyes quickly and then opened them again. Her throat stung and she balled her free hand into a fist. She clenched her teeth and looked toward the sky, trying to keep herself from crying. She didn't want to hurt Galen. And she didn't want him to leave her.

Galen halted and turned to face her, pressing a finger beneath her chin and lifting it up. He bent down slightly so he was just beneath her. "Nothing, Nothing, you could do would make you deserve something like that." He stayed there for a moment, then opened his truck and stepped in.
The drive to Galen's house was short and silent. At the beginning of the driveway, Galen swore loudly. Cars lined the driveway inevitably drunken family that wasn't able to go back. He glanced at her. "We can camp out in the RV if we have to.." he said, biting his lip.

Maddie sat silently in Galen's truck, listening to the hum of it as they drove along. She leaned back in the comfy seats and closed her eyes, wanting to fall asleep. Tonight had been a long night and she was almost ready for it to be over. Maddie opened her eyes when she heard a noise softly falling on the truck. She looked out of the windshield and noticed the rain falling from the dark sky. She sighed.
Galen slowed the truck and turned into a driveway that was filled with cars. She stared down the driveway and then looked at the front window. She could see figures dancing & floating around in the light, many of them holding glasses. She heard laughter and saw that the front door was open, with the screen door blocking the rain from entering the house.
Maddie glanced at Galen. "It doesn't matter to me," she said quietly. She then banged her head on back of the seat. "Oh shit! Shitshitshit." She rolled her head over to the side and looked at Galen. "Do you possibly have sweatpants and a shirt that I could sleep in?" she asked, her eyes sweeping over his face. Her heart melted and then began to race hard. She closed her eyes and his face stayed in her vision. Maddie popped her eyes open and smiled smally at him. "It's okay if you don't."

"Yea, I've got a stuff you can wear. Hang on, here," Galen tossed her keys. "You can head in to the RV. I'll run and get us some food and you some clothes."
Galen launched open the door of his truck, sprinting across the lawn and colliding with the screen door. An amused voice lifted from inside the house. "Funny Galen, but most people go through the door." Galen swore, and opened the door, greeted with the warm rush of activity. He wanted to avoid being interrogated by his family, but his mother's sharp gaze caught him immediately, and she broke apart from the laughing crowd, a bottle of beer in her fist. "Hey hon, where have you been?" she asked, giving him a hug, but letting go of him quickly with a shout. "Your soaking wet!" she exclaimed. "Go change." Galen wasn't able to sneak in a word edgewise, and he passed by Karina's room. Upon seeing her spread eagle on her bed, face down with huge snores rising from her slender frame, Galen sneaked past and changed quickly. He grabbed a white t-shirt, and a gray sweatshirt with sweatpants. He grabbed some easy mac in the cubbard and told his mother he'd be staying in the RV with a friend.
Upon his return to the RV, he was not quite soaking wet, but had to ring out his clothing best he could. He tossed Maddie dry clothes and put a big package of easy mac in the microwave. "So... what do you want to do? We could watch a movie, anything really..."

Once Galen jumped out of his truck, Maddie swiftly slide into his seat. She'd driven before - illegally, of course, as she didn't have her lisence - but she was a little nervous. She'd never driven a truck before. Nor had she dirven in the rain or with a million and one cars lining a driveway. Holding her breath, Maddie slowly drove the truck up the driveway. She parked it in a clear area and then spotted the RV. She quietly moved out of the truck and then dashed into the RV, the rain melting her curls.
She closed the door to the RV and looked around, listening to the rain beat down on the roof. She sighed and then walked over to the couch in the RV. She sat down, falling deep into the seat. She smiled and pulled her entire body up on the couch. She could fall alseep right now... right here. It was so peaceful - and comfortable!
When Galen entered, Maddie caught the clothes that he had gotten for her. "Thanks," she said. She stood up and watched him move about. "What movies do you have?" Without waiting for a reply, though, Maddie headed to the bathroom. "Be right back." She slipped away inside and closed the door behind her. She changed out for her revealing clothes and changed into the comfy clothes that Galen had let her borrow. She left her other clothes in the bathroom, moving them out of the way. Maddie kept her bra on, though. She then returned to Galen.
"Rainy days are good for movies," she said. "Where do you keep them....?"
