The loud beat coming from the club was apparent as soon as the duo pulled in to the club's driveway. Karina immediately felt the rush radiating from the building. Atop of the establishment, a deck was visable, glass plating separating the flooring from mere air. The entire thing in itself was actually quite flat, and although it was inevitably larger from the inside, from the outside, it looked like absolutely nothing consequentual.
Karina stepped out of the truck, watching the club with a smile on her face. When would she ever imagine, that she would meet a kind salesmen and they would then go off dancing. Perhaps nothing was to come out of this night, but if anything, it would be fun. She smiled, excitement flooding her at the sharp crunch of gravel beneath her feet. Karina licked dry lips and waited for Jake to step out, gazing at the club with a grin on her face.

He watched as Karina got out of the truck but he staying inside of the vehicle for a few moments. Ok, so he was checking to make sure that he looked decent but after he looked fine he stepped out of the truck and locked the door before shoving the keys in his pocket. He heard the music which only made him want to get inside even more. This place just had a different beat then other clubs. He'd been to several other clubs and none of them could even come close to being like this one. Not to mention the deck was something else, and it probably was his favorite spot in the whole club. Then he made his way over to where Karina was tonight would be a rather interesting night. If somebody would have asked him this morning if he'd meet somebody while he was working and then end up going to the club with them he would have told them not and that would never happen. But it had and now, he was interested in how this night would turn out.
It still felt odd to be here with a girl that was actually around his age. The last girl that he'd probably brought to the club with him that wasn't his sister was most likely Vikki and he'd broken up with about two months ago. The last thing he'd heard about her after college had ended was that she was going to transfer to another college now. He really hoped that he didn't have anything to do with that decision since it wasn't like he hated her. Well, he did a little bit since she'd said some things that were rather disturbing or at least to him they were. Since as it turned out she hadn't even really liked him and had been gunning for his younger brother the whole time. God, that just wasn't right and there was no way he'd even allow for such a thing to happen anyway. Not to mention, he knew that Brenden would never fall for her in the first place even if she only was nineteen. After he'd found out her whole plot he'd immediately dumped her and told her to stay away from his younger sibling or else she'd be sorry.
But right now, he needed to get off that subject before it grossed him out again. "Well, this place looks as busy as it usually is." He said and then looked at the entrance to the building.

Karina nodded, and began walking toward the club. "Shall we go in then?" She didn't exactly wait for an answer, and walked beside him into the club. Immediately stepping in to the mass of activity, she felt a new glint of excitement run through her. The steady beat that had been very audible from outside was even louder in here, and the music that accompanied it was definite dance tunes. The smell of wet bodies was slightly consumed by the strong scent of alcohol that hung over the entire place. It wasn't a bad smell, far from it. The club was hopping with activity, even at this time of night. Karina felt her entire mind set transform. Here she could let go of herself a bit, providing her brother didn't show up randomly. Now that would be scary, Karina thought with a raised eyebrow. She took a moment more to take in the general atmosphere, and sighed, pulling her hair out of the bun it had been secured in to keep it out of her eyes. She shook it around slightly, licking her dry lips, with a determinedly badass look on her face.
"Should we dance first, or get drinks?" she asked, shouting over the loud music. She could barely see Jake's face, except when the occasional multi colored light shown on it, illuminating his features, making him look almost ghostly. She sighed, waiting for his answer.

Well, she certainly was one to take control and it was rather nice not to be the one who made all of the decisions for once. He really didn't like the really shy girls either and it seemed like Karina wasn't one of them. That was also nice since he really didn't like the awkward silence when nobody spoke. He usually was the one who would break the eerie silence though and sometimes it would be broken by him saying something completely obvious. Once inside of the club he looked around, trying to spot somebody that he knew but he didn't see anybody who looked familiar among the bodies. But it looked like all of the little thirteen year old had cleared out already, perfect. He strained to see Karina's face but it was very hard to do so it seemed darker in here then it usually was. Maybe it was just because he hadn't been here in awhile though. Yet when a light hit him for a brief moment he was almost blinded. "Perhaps I should have brought my sunglasses with me." He said and knew that people probably would have stared at him if he would have done that. Of course, he might start some new fad or something and he wasn't so sure if that would have been a good thing or not.
He heard her question before thinking about what he normally would do if he was with somebody who was close to his age. "We can dance first and then when we're too worn out to dance anymore we can get drinks." He said before smiling at her and taking her hand lightly and taking a few steps toward the dance floor before stopping. The song changed and it's loud and lively music was pumping from speakers that were hidden among the bodies. He knew that he was holding her hand but once again, it felt odd to actually be doing this. He hadn't in such a long time to him since he had even been in the place, and to be dancing with a girl right away made everything just that better.

Karina let the beat flood her body, and before she knew it she was dancing with him as though she had known him for her entire life. Song after song passed, and still, Karina danced, a wild grin on her face, her hair whipping about her shoulders as though it had a life of its own. The few young teenagers left were winding down and slowly exiting the club, and now an older crowd came in, and with it, a whole new life. Suddenly in corners there were people making out, and the dancing took on a much dirtier aspect. Karina followed the flow, breathing slightly labored. It was busy work, keeping up with the pace of the music, and Jake wasn't lying when he had said he was a good dancer. Karina hoped she wasn't so bad herself, but she couldn't say so herself. She smiled, as the song changed again.
The song playing now was quite popular, and many more came out from their corners, sometimes slightly tipsy. Some couples were laughing like morons, falling all over the dance floor. These were the drunken college kids that Karina expected at this time. Having very recently turned 21, she had no intentions of becoming one of these people, and simply let herself continue to dance, slowly upping the complexity of the moves. Finally a slow song played, despite the fact that this was a club, and the air now smelled even more strongly of alcohol than ever. The bar tender seemed to have given up checking IDs, because Karina swore she had seen some 14 year old, hanging off a friend looking somewhat green.
She paused, watching him with a pleasantly seductive look in her eye. It was hard to believe, almost an hour had passed, and Karina felt like she was having the time of her life. The only thing that could possibly pop the wonderful elated feeling she was feeling at this moment was if she saw someone she knew, worst of all her brother. She pushed this thought away and turned to Jake, brushing a slightly sweaty lock of hair out of her face. "Let's get drinks and sit on the deck, sound good?" she said, waiting for him to accept or decline her plan. "Then we can come back and dance some more if you want."

She was a brilliant dancer, perhaps the best dancer that he'd ever seen and he wouldn't think that about anybody. It seemed like the two had known each other for ages and not just met that day. He noticed the grin on her face and couldn't help grinning back at her. It was like the two of them were almost the perfect match when it came to dancing he could tell that she'd danced a time or two. Not to mention they were almost the same height and she was probably an inch shorter then he was. Which meant that she was about five ten and that was rather tall for a girl. Why was he thinking so much now, he then turned his attention back to dancing. It was then that he noticed there were people watching the two of them, and it made him wonder how the two even looked while dancing. Apparently they looked good otherwise they wouldn't be attracting the stares. "Looks like people think that we're good dancers judging by how many people are watching us." He said before his eyes wandered over to a young teenager who looked just a little bit drunk, not they looked like they were ready to hurl.
He'd always lectured Brenden about not ending up like he did. There was no way he was going to have his younger brother get his ear pierced just because he didn't know what was happening. That probably was another reason why he never left him alone at parties. It was around that time when the music seemed to change to fit the slightly older crowd. The way Karina was dancing was making him pull out all of the stops. Yet it was fun dancing with her since her moves and ability seemed to increase with each song or maybe that was just him. Either way he was having fun and there was only a few things that could make his mood turn one hundred and eighty degrees. One would be the power shutting off and the music stopping and two would be an ex showing up but that wasn't about to happen. They had either went off to college somewhere else or moved away.
"Yeah, that sounds good I probably could use a small break. Since I hate to admit it but I'm really not used to dancing for as long as we were." He said and then took her hand lightly once again and led her off the dance floor and toward the source of the strong alcohol smell.

"Yeah, me neither. I just didn't want to look like a wimp to you," she confessed, closing her fingers around his loose grip. The two made there gradual way to the bar, punctuated slightly by the occasional groping couple. Karina ordered a appletini, with limited alcohol in it. "It's my first night drinking," she explained ruefully. "I only recently turned 21."
Karina waited for Jake to order his drink, then walked beside him to the deck, which was quite pleasant after the smelly dance floor. It was a balmy night, and stars littered the sky, glowering down at them with startling accuracy. "So," Karina said, perfectly content to just stay here all night with Jake across the table from her.

So she wasn't used to dancing for that long either, now he didn't feel so bad. He knew that it he was actually better shape he could have danced for longer than that. But ever since he'd graduated high school he'd let his fitness level drop slightly perhaps now was the time to actually bring it back up to where it used to be again. There was no way he'd be able to get up at five in the morning and go out running again though. Since he stayed up too late for that to ever happen. "So I guess that we both pushed each other then." He said as he felt her fingers close around his grip, at least she wasn't bothered by the fact that he'd taken her hand twice now then. He then noticed that the bartender that was normally there when he went to the club was there once again. He just nodded at the man and a few moments later had his drink handed over to him. He honestly didn't know the name of it but whatever it was it contained alcohol and had a rather interesting taste to it.
He made his way out to the deck and then sat down before realizing that he probably should say something. "I turned twenty one about a month ago and that night wasn't my first night drinking. Although I suppose that you've heard the story about what happened four years ago in which I end up getting my ear pierced." He said and then wondered if she had even noticed that the top right of his ear had a simple silver stud in it. If she hadn't heard the story he figured that he would have to tell her now. Although it wasn't one of his best moments and after his parents had found out the next month or so hadn't been the best month ever either. Since they made sure they knew where he was at all times and he either was at work or at home basically. His eyes wandered up to the stars for a moment, this was the perfect night to be outside. Not to mention there was only two other people out here and they were at the other end of the deck. All of the other people were probably too drunk to make it over to this place. "It certainly is a nice night tonight." He said before looking at Karina.

Karina nodded. The wild grin had slipped from her face and what replaced it was a look of thoughtfulness. Karina bit her lip and watched him, running her eyes over his face, taking in every detail. Her expression changed once more. She sipped her drink and thought of a proper answer to his statement. "It is," she said, her eyes barely flickering from his face. She sighed, glancing off into the distance and wondering whether to tell him of the thought that plagued her mind at the moment, bursting to get out of the walls of her skull. She decided to voice what she was thinking, or at least part of it.
"You should know something about me. I haven't told you yet because this day has been amazing. I mean, I would never have imagined this happening before and..." she trailed off, shaking her head. "Anyway, I have a slight disorder. Sometimes it effects my moods, sometimes it effects my entire being." She gulped, placing her hand gently on his. "I have ADHD. I've got it pretty bad too. I mean, not like the occasional case. I get a little bit... hyperactive." She tried to gauge his expression in advance, to figure out how he would begin to respond to her confession.
She bit her lip. Perhaps she could have something worse, but right now, her having ADHD seemed like the worse thing that could possibly happen. Sometimes she woke up wondering why? Why couldn't she have control over her emotions and activity level like other people? But eventually she had learned to live with it.

He had been just about to ask her what was wrong until he heard her start to speak. He was slightly shocked by what he heard but it wasn't going to stop him from talking to this girl. His expression softened as he thought about everything that she'd told him again. He could tell that she was worried but she didn't have to be. He wasn't about to abandon her. "It's alright, really I'm not bothered by that at all." He said rather quietly before looking at her before staring down at his hands for a moment as he thought about what she had told him once again. He didn't have any secrets like that but he did have a few things that he'd rather not talk about. One of them was the accident that he'd been involved in about two years ago when a car had slammed into the vehicle he was driving and sent it into a concrete bridge. He knew that he was lucky it was concrete since if it had been made out of wood his car would have been pushed into the river below and that was quite a drop.
He could remember everything about he accident and the pain that he'd suddenly felt after the impact. Of course you usually did feel pain after you flew forward only to be stopped by your seat belt. He'd lost consciousness for a brief amount of time and when it was regained he noticed the flashing lights to his right. Everybody had insisted that he needed to go to the hospital and he'd gave into their pressuring right away, partially due to the headache that he'd had. But all the way to the hospital he'd just shook, ok so he did have a fear of doctors and that fear had been there for as long as he could remember. He hadn't liked all of the people poking at him and when they'd insisted that he stay there for the rest of the night he'd almost lost it. Yet, as if on cue his parents had came in and Brenden had too. His younger sibling had been a complete mess of course he could understand why that was. Since it had been a short time after Brenden had lost his best friend due to a car accident. He hadn't fallen asleep that whole night, but part of that was due to the bright lights that had been in the room.
Once again he realized that he'd been silent for too long and that he probably should say anything. "So, would you ever think about going to college here?" He asked curiously knowing that she probably wanted to get off the subject of what she had just told him.

Karina was greatful of his acceptance of her condition. She was also grateful for how agreeably he changed the subject. "Maybe... I quite like the town and everything." She looked thoughtfully up into the night sky. "But right now I'm at MIT. I love it there. Everybody is as eccentric and technical like as I am. Maybe I'll go to grad school here though..." she trailed off, thinking of her dorm back in Massachusetts. The crowded space was full of computers, and although she was one of the few female students, she enjoyed every minute she spent there. Again, he asked thought provoking questions. At MIT everybody knew what she was talking about, and she could say complicated engineering things and know that everyone would understand her. But in the real world, this probably wouldn't be true. She turned back to him.
"I guess I've never really considered leaving. What about you? Could you ever imagine going to college anywhere besides here?" She waited eagerly for his answer. This was something she could talk about comfortably, without too much hyperactivity, and there were rarely awkward silences. She wished some other of the subjects that often came up were as easier as colleges to speak about.

He thought about her question and knew exactly how he was going to answer it. "Actually, I was originally thinking about going to another college that was out of town. One of the reasons why they make such a big deal about Brenden being the quarterback of the team is because of me well that and the fact that the teams good. That was my position for two years and now people are trying to compare us and it's not going to work. Those two years we were conference champions and had a nice run in the playoffs too." He said and then leaned back and sighed for a moment, those two years had been perfect and if he could go back and do things over again he probably would. "So, as you can imagine I was all set to go off to another college but things just didn't work out." He said and wondered what had changed his mind in the first place, some people thought he was crazy for staying here when he could be somewhere else. But he just didn't know why he'd decided to stay here.
He remembered her saying something about going to college further east from here but he didn't think she was in another state. But he should have known that because this college was the only one up in northern Wisconsin. What had he been thinking and why did he keep smiling at her? "So yeah, I could see myself going to a different college. Yet it would be a waste of time to now." He said and then once again sighed, this time it was because he did regret not going somewhere else slightly. Everybody else had basically went to other places and he hadn't.

She shrugged, almost indifferently. "Want to get out of here? I dunno, we could like go to town or something. Get a good meal. Not be surrounded by drunk college kids," she added ruefully with a grin. Karina enjoyed being spontaneous. Perhaps it was what happened when she grew up around a family like hers. But even so, Karina's hyperactive mood changes caused her to enjoy anything that could be random, but was completely under her control. Originally, she had intended to dance here until she could dance no more. But now her stomach ached slightly, and the crappy club food wouldn't satisfy her hunger.
And yet, the overall spontaneity of the entire situation amused her greatly. Here she was, with who had previously been a complete stranger, enjoying a chat about colleges over drinks, and after a furious dancing session. It pleased her, perhaps more than she could explain, so she waited patiently for his answer.
