[tis mucho shitteh, but i warned you, so your not allowed to complain]
Slightly disturbed that this solitarity seemed to be a theme of her life, Maya Folten was, yet again, finding herself very much alone. Not that it was quite as pathetic as one might expect, as, it was in fact raining at that very moment, and Maya stood, completely drenched, pondering her existence. Was it still considered pathetic if it was raining? Eh, probably. So Maya resigned herself to a rock and made nasty faces at no one in particular. Eyes glued to the rocky beach, Maya scanned the world before her, wondering if anyone was in the same position as her, perhaps even at the same place, with the same slightly vacant expression darkening their faces?
Perhaps so, but the thought was unlikely, so with a grim smile, Maya slid down from her perch atop the rock, and set off for some form of life among the grisley rock beach, that she found herself so often wandering. With a sigh, she picked up a rock, fingering it for a moment with long, pale fingers, then tossing it into the rush of water with a satisfying thoomp. Was this how she was resigned to spend out the rest of her life? Throwing rocks into white water, and being oddly satisfied at the noise it made? Hopefully not. But today, this was how Maya Folten, realized she was most likely to spend her Saturday. And with a sigh, she plopped back on her rock again, gaze downward.

Randi had nothing to do on a Saturday. Oh that's a great way to begin this little tale. She had nothing to do on a Saturday- Her chores were done, her homework was in her locker, finished, she didn't have a job, she didn't have any friends to hang out with in the new town, and she had absolutely NO inspiration for a poem or a short story. This was going to be a lonnnnnnnnnnng day. Randi had gone downstairs to eat breakfast with her mother, who was slowly sipping tea and reading the paper, and her mother had kindly suggested she go and check out the town a bit. Since Randi had already 'checked out the town' by her mother's wished about four times since they had moved there, Randi decided to go down a train she hadn't gone down before.
When Randi had been walking the town last time, she had come across a trail. A small one, made out of rocks and seeming to lead somewhere mysterious that would make her pee her pants with anticipation. Just when she had been about to step onto the trail, her mother rang her on her cell phone and told her it was time for dinner. With a sigh, Randi had given up on the trail, yet it hadn't left her mind for about a week since she last saw it. Now as Randi stepped onto the trail for a first time, she was excited to learn where it would lead to.
It lead to a river, and Randi tried not to show her dissapointment. It wasn't that she didn't like rivers because they were wonderful things, it was just that somehow Randi had wormed into her vivid mind that it would be a mysterious town that no one had ever stumbled upon, even after living there all of their life. If anyone stumbled, it was Randi. She tripped over a large boulder and ended up in the sand, her hand aching a little bit and her mind throbbing with alertness. No one had tripped her, she had tripped herself with the rock. Now that she realized this, she began to laugh at herself. Yes Randi was one of those people who was comfortable enough in her skin to laugh at herself... Which she tended to do quite a lot. Randi spotted a girl, probably a few years older than herself if not the same age, and waved gleefully at her. Seeing that the girl was throwing rocks, Randi wondered if she was trying to skim them over the surface of the water, instead of just letting them land at the bottom of the river with depressing sounds. "Are you trying to skip the rock or something?" Randi asked, getting up and dusting off her bum. She knew it probably had a bunch of sand all over it, so it was best that she got it all off before going into town. Who knew what people would say about the new girl.. Covered in sand as usual.
OOC. It isn't bad, I'm serious. And I'm sorry that I didn't see this until like, forever ago and that it took me so long. I had to eat dinner .______.

Maya glanced up, furrowing her brow before allowing her expression to smooth out into an easy grin. She returned the wave, taking in the other girl's appearance. She too seemed to be quite wet, though not as wet as Maya herself. Thick black hair framed her narrow face. Her chin jutted out, and her eyes were heavily lined in thick makeup. Her eyes were ghostly grayish color, and with a start Maya realized the two must look strangely alike, both slightly dissapointed in where their mornings had ended up. She hastened to respond, though after being silent for a long while, her voice was a little bit croaky. "No, simply watching it sink to the bottom," she answered rather listlessly, without meeting the girl's gaze.
For a moment longer she stared off in to the space before her, the slightly spacey look in her dark eyes more pronounced now. Her cheeks were oddly hollow, and without the wild happiness that most usually took residence in her eyes, her complexion was waxy, vampire like. The pale teenager's was dressed most normally for her, in dark skinny jeans with chains hanging from the belt loops, jingling slightly when she did move slightly. Her tee-shirt was orange and had silver designs embellishing it. It barely contoured her thin frame, contrasting wildly with her dark hair which hung tangled down to her shoulders. In a slight attempt to tame it, some of it was thrown into a ponytail, but many dark strands had escaped, and now wetted Maya's shirt slightly, leaving dark imprints.
Perhaps, Maya thought, trying not to sound forlorn even in her own head, I should try to speak to this girl, get to know her more. After pondering for a brief moment what to say, she opened her mouth and said the first thing that came to mind, despite it's slight randomness. "Nice day out huh?" Her tone implied that she was completely serious, but an impish glint appeared in her eyes, lessening the ghostliness of her complexion.
"The name's Maya by the way."

The first thing that came to mind when the girl replied with watching the rocks sink to the bottom for Randi was 'that's kind of depressing'. But for someone who constantly seemed to be happy {Besides her home life, whenever she's outside of her house she's 100% joy} you can probably see how she thinks this is depressing. It's almost like saying 'Oh, I'm just tying humans to huge and very heavy rocks and watching them float down to the lowest part of the sea where they're deprived of oxygen for a few moments, thus dying a wonderous death'..... Well actually that's nothing at all like watching rocks go into the water.
"Oh. Well I was kind of hoping that you could help me skip stones but okay." Randi said brightly, picking up a small stick and chucking it at the glistening sea. She had never been very good at throwing things, since she had horrible aiim and barely paid attention enough to FOCUS on one section to throw at, but that never stopped Randi from trying to throw things. You know, paper balls at guys who were making fun of her, banana peels at those who truely deserved them, rocks at the sea. Whatever she could throw and wanted to throw she tried to.
Randi smiled over at the girl again before picking up a rock and chucking THAT at the water as well. It landed more towards a seagull who was looking for something to eat, and it squaked at Randi unhappily. "Sorry!" Randi called to the seagull, although it had already flown away at that point. Hearing the girl talk once again about the weather, Randi grinned at the girl's attept to start a conversation. She would go along with it, because it wasn't like she would turn down a conversation. She couldn't, if anyone knew her well enough. "It IS a nice day... Not too sunny but not cold and depressing either. Is it always like this?" Randi asked, glancing around at her feet for a few seconds in order to find a rock or something to throw out to sea. It actually wasn't sea, it was river. But ''throw it out to river'' doesn't sound too great.
