Personality: Ever met one of those people who just seem to have so much energy, they blitz past you in a rush of sound and color, leaving you behind, completely stunned?
Yeah? Well, Riley Addison was that whirlwind.
She was always known as 'The Rat Kid' in her primary school. She was the kid who purposefully spilt her purple paint just to swirl her hands in it. The kid who ate only the chocolate ice-cream in those Neapolitan tubs. The kid whose room smelt like something had died in there... which it probably had. The kid who could wear dirty green leggings, stained orange-and-yellow jumpers, untied sneakers, tangled hair and not care, as long as she got her Popsicle.
Some people take her as a show-off, an attention seeker, when truthfully she is the complete opposite. She loves center stage, but is perfectly content to be holed up in her room with a good book for endless hours. Her personality is as loud as her clothes, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
Riley is a very creative perosn. Not quite the artist, however; she was still finger-painting in Grade 4. VERY dramatic though, always got a good role in Drama plays in primary school. But Riley likes to sing. She has played the piano for several years and can play a few tunes on the gee-tar. She loves music and sings to herself often. Her favourite performance place is the shower. She has a nice voice and an impressive range, but isn't looking to devote her life to singing. She likes media, and did well in her classes, but she adores photography.
A very likeable person, she makes friends with almost everyone. She showers you with affection, and at times can almost be too much to bear. But be warned - if she doesn't like you, she'll make it very clear. She is a loyal friend, and once she decides you're suitable, you're her friend for life. She is defensive of her buddies and will always stand up for them - a fiery temper is not unheard of. She bounces on shit as quickly as possible, and can be hard to keep track of; one minute she won't even look at you, next minute she's hanging off your every word.
She HATES her middle name and beware if you happen to mention it. Contrarily, she adores her first and last names, and always says them with pride. She's extremely messy, so don't go into her room without a gas mask handy. All in all, Missus Riley Addison is a complex little nut and she's one step from insanity.

Appearance
Skin: Riley is graced with lovely milky skin with hardly any blemishes. She has never had acne, and she probably never will. This she is thankful for. However, because her skin is so pale, it burns very easily, so she has formed a habit of applying 30+ sunscreen every morning and smoothing more on as it wears off during the day. But, her messy nature means she sometimes forgets, and she ends up looking red, and not only from embarrassment. The rare times her skin does decide to tan, however, she only looks more glowing and healthy.
Eyes: They say eyes are the window to the soul, and this is very true in Riley's case. Her twin occuli are clearest blue, ringed with a darker, denim blue color and with flecks of green near the pupil that appear sometimes in certain light. Though she is not some freak whose eyes 'change' color according to her mood. I'm talking a pond green color in bright, fluorescent light. Her eyes are framed by medium-length lashes that are more often than not coated in a quick dash of black mascara.
Hair: Riley recently underwent a big change in the hair department, and is glad she did. The natural blonde has since dyed her hair, and likes her layered cut because it is easy to maintain and looks good. Her hair is an orange-ish color with blonde underneath. The choppy side fringe is almost always out, and she only sometimes pins it back in sweaty P.E. lessons. Her hair is usually down, but sometimes she'll pull it back into a ponytail or messy bun. It reaches to about shoulder-length.
Body Shape: Relatively skinny, she's a slender, slight girl but does have muscle. She weighs in at around 115 pounds, though she hasn't weighed herself in a while. She doesn't actually own a pair of scales, and she would never go on a diet. Ever. She likes food waayyy too much to give it up. Her weight balances out on her short frame. A majestic 5 foot three, her size is unimaginable for the mess and chaos she creates. Though she is no pushover - don't undermine her. Size is power... Riley just happens to be smaller than most. But definitely more powerful. Definitely.
Clothing Style: Ahh. Now here's where it starts to get interesting. Riley's wardrobe is a menagerie of colors, shapes, designs... definitely somewhere to stop and stare. Her morning ritual is an interesting one: first, she chooses a shirt or a dress. Then pairs it with the nearest pair of shorts, pants or skirt. Then, shoes. Pretty much the same as the bottoms: grab the closest pair. If can't find matching shoe, settle for closest option, eg. one pink Converse, one red Converse. Somehow all her outfits manage to look good, though, a skill she has perfected over the years. But she'll never tell you her secrets. If you were to label Riley, you would probably pick 'prep', though that doesn't really fit perfectly. 'Individual' is the best option.
Usual Make-up: Mascara; to define her lashes. Concealer; to hide any blemishes that might appear. Foundation; to even out her skin tone. Blush; to add color to her cheeks. Those are her essentials, though sometimes she adds interesting shades of eyeshadow, a touch of eyeliner, or some lipstick. She wears ChapStick and sunscreen religiously, and will go all out for special occasions. Fake eyelashes, diamontes, bright lipsticks, the works. She prefers the natural, more subtle look, and goes by the rule, 'less is more'.
Piercings/Tattoos: No tattoos, though she might -- MIGHT, she isn't a fan of needles and pain -- think about getting a small one later. Her ears are pierced twice on each lobe, and there is a piercing in her right cartlidge that she may or may not wear. Depends on her mood. Her belly-button is pierced but she doesn't always wear it. Actually, by now it's probably closed over, so if she wants to put a piercing in there, it's gonna hurt.
History: Picture the perfect movie-screen, young, just-married couple. Money, good looks, nice house, impeccable manners, totally in love comes to mind, right? Well, Thomas and Teresa Addison were all that and more, and the arrival of her perfect baby girl, Riley Tessla, only completed their joy.
Until the age of about 5, Riley's life was perfect. She had lots of little friends, and her parents couldn't be prouder of their beautiful little girl. However, the scales of Fate suddenly decided to tip out of their favour one fateful October day. Teresa's parents, Grandma and Grandpa Wilkins, were killed in a horrible car accident. Teresa was distraught, as was Thomas and Riley. You see, Riley's mother had been extremely close to her parents, and their simultaneous deaths ripped her apart.
The family tried to pull back together, to righten themselves, but this Teresa couldn't seem to do. There was nothing to numb her pain, so she turned to alcohol. There is nothing more horrifying for a little girl to go through than to see her mother grow up, getting drunker and drunker.
The Addison family hid behind closed doors, and although Thomas tried desperately to preserve Teresa's plummetting reputation with the neighbourhood mothers, rumours were started to be whispered around. Teresa was falling steadily down a cliff, and no-one could save her. Though she was not a violent drunk, she was sometimes verbally abusive, and Riley fell to sleep in tears every night, knowing her once beautiful mother wasn't going to be there in the morning. It would be the horrible Teresa, cranky and snappy with yet another monster hangover.
This part of Riley's life drew to a close one rainy day in November, within a month and two years of her parents' death, when Teresa died from an overdose. Riley will never speak of how she found her mother lying on the kitchen tiles, seemingly asleep, so don't even go there. She is very open and out-going, but that story is shuttered down and will not come out.
Thomas, who had been madly in love with the once-beautiful Teresa, went crazy. He stopped communicating with everyone entirely, and shut himself in the library day after day, night after night. Soon after Riley turned 10 -- two years after her mother's death -- she begged her father to stop. Out of pity and love for his daughter, he came out of his recluse state and started something, if possible, much, much worse.
Thomas Addison started dating.
And not lovely, middle-aged women who adored Riley and baked her cookies -- I'm talking about half-his-age, platinum-blonde- huge-chested bimbos who were in it only for Thomas' huge fortune. And if the woeful tale of the Addison's couldn't get any worse, Riley started getting abused. Verbally, mentally, emotionally... even physically. Boy, was it physically. Her dad's girlfriends were determined to rid the world of the only heir to Thomas' fortune.
Riley has dealt with this silently for seven years, putting on a happy face and bright personality, and not once has she told anybody of this story.
