Personality
Many would describe Tohya as quiet and even a bit weird. Tohya is strong willed and self assured in herself. She seems as though that she can’t fail at anything she does. She is highly intelligent, although this doesn’t show in her school work, and is adapt at playing many video games. The people she knows are few, and friends don’t exist. She is manipulative and tries her best to hurt others, it seems she gets some sort of satisfaction from doing that. Although she does seem self assured, deep down she is quite insecure and tries her best to keep others away from her own feelings although she freely plays with others.
Appearance
Tohya’s purple dyed hair is cut short in the back, only about an inch or so of hair is left in the back. Her bangs cover her forehead which are usually trimmed and never go below the eyebrows. The hair around and over her sideburns is shoulder length. Usually ribbons are wrapped throughout them. Other times Tohya will style her hair in extravagant ways, some are quite unusual.
Tohya’s eyes are hazel which is quite unusual for a Japanese girl but of course her eyes also don’t have the customary eyes of a Japanese person. Her hazel eyes are actually quite bright and are the second thing most people notice about her other then her purple hair.
Tohya is not very tall although no one could call her short. Her small frame makes her seem as though she couldn’t protect herself but she can. Tohya’s pale skin seems to be even paler because of the dark clothing she wears. Tohya has never been that eye catching girl that everyone sees but that rarely means anything to her. She usually doesn’t take that great care of herself (I’m not talking about not taking showers) she let’s herself get sick and sometimes doesn’t eat.
History:
Tohya was born in Japan and was the only child of her mother and father. Born with a serious illness. This inhibited Tohya from doing most normal activities with other children. Although she could keep it under control with medicine, Tohya, in times of depression, would forget to take the medicine.
Tohya grew up in Japan with her mother and father but at a young age, Tohya's family moved to Britain because of her father's job. Living there was tough for Tohya because of her lack of English but she gradually learned it over time. Tohya’s life was centered mainly on her father who, after loosing his job in Britain, became an alcoholic.
Although Tohya’s mother worried about this she took no actions against her husband and soon got her own job. While Tohya’s mother worked her father watched her and would pick her up after school. Tohya respected her father but as her father slide deeper and deeper into depression from losing his job he would act out violently against his daughter.
Tohya’s father would mentally and physically abuse though he never did anything sexual to her. He would hit her and beat her. Her mother was oblivious to the whole ordeal, not even notching the bruises on her daughter. Both of the acts, abuse and neglect, caused Tohya to draw away emotionally from both her parents and friends.
During this time Tohya would push away from her already established friendships and soon became a loner. She became interested in gaming, one way to stay away from her father was to stay in her room and play video games. Although this never always worked, it did help her establish her love for games and books. They were a way to escape from the pain and hardship of her life.
Tohya soon tried to draw away from her own emotions that only seemed to be composed of loneliness, hatred, and hurt. Though this was a hard endeavor for Tohya she tried her best to remove herself from her own emotions. Although in full she did not fully pull away from her emotions she turned her emotions into a sort of weapon to hide her true emotions from others. If she felt frightened she would act out with happiness and kindness. If she were hurt she would do the same.
Soon enough though her mother noticed her daughter’s withdrawal from others. When she finally confronted Tohya’s father he admitted to her that he had beaten their daughter. A divorce soon followed suit. Tohya’s mother got custody of Tohya and they both moved to America. Although culturally similar to Britain, moving to America caused even more serious problems to Tohya’s psyche.
