Character Information:
Character's Name: Starr Jade Parker
Age: 17
Grade: Senior
Height: 5'6"
Hair color: Brown
Eye color: Forest Green around the pupil, blue on the outside.
Other Family Members: Crystal Connors-Mother, 48; Jack Parker-Father, Deceased; William Connors-Stepdad, 50; Alexa Connors-StepSister, 16
Personality There are very few people who are truly like Starr Parker. For one, her name is about as strange as it gets, and she's learned to embrace the weirdness that seems to follow her around. Starr is surprisingly easy to get along with, what with all of her so-called perfectness, as her step-sister calls it. In truth, Starr is far from perfect, but just grew up differently from most people and so can seem that way.
She can easily be described in a three word phrase known as 'girl next door'. Starr is one of those friendly, outgoing types who is not afraid to meet new people. Not only that, she is extremely loyal to her friends and puts them above all else, other than her family really. A laid back person, her patience can sometimes seem to be that of a saint, though she does get rather angry if you push the right buttons, and then it's scary.
Starr is one of those people who thinks the best of people until proven otherwise, even if people tell her other things. She never says that she hates people, even though there are plenty of people she doesn't like. She never brings it up, she just never says 'I hate her/him'. Usually with Starr, what you see is what you get. If she's angry enough with you, she'll tell you. She can be brutally honest sometimes, a trait that no doubt came from her father, though always tries to apologize for the bluntness.
Starr doesn't care what other people say about her, or at least tries not to let it get to her. Sometimes, she can bottle up her emotions to keep this portrayal of herself up, which includes pretending she's happy when she is angry or sad. She is not prone to outbursts unless these bottle up too much over time. Though she doesn't like keeping secrets, she will keep many just so questions aren't asked, such as questions about her father or the accident. If she'll tell you what happened, you better understand she trusts you with her life.

Appearance Starr is nothing special, but the odd thing is that she doesn't use make-up to make herself look that way. Or, at least not all the time like most girls do. On a day to day basis, it is all neutral tones, and hardly anything past some powder and mascara. However, on special occasions she will go all out, and most people are a bit surprised when she does. She looks fine without much make-up at all, with a rather nice natural complexion, but with a good deal of make-up she looks radiant.
Her hair is the same color as about 70% of the world's population. Well, of the people who keep their natural color. A warm tone of brunette, it falls just a few inches past her shoulders and is usually wavy. The longer it gets, the more wavy it is. The color can be easily described as a golden brown, lighter than a darker color but still dark.
Her eyes are where it gets interesting. From a little ways away, they look like ordinary eyes, a hazel color to be exact. However, when you get closer you can see the difference. around her pupil, the iris is forest green, but as you get farther away from the pupil it becomes a pure blue. Often times, Starr will play up her eyes when using more make-up than normal to add to this effect. It's about the only unique thing on the exterior.
Standing at 5'6" at weighing 127 lbs., there is another thing about Starr that is not extraordinary. Unlike many girls, she doesn't starve herself to be a size zero. In fact, she loves food, and doesn't care who thinks she's fat so long as she is happy with her body. She's well proportioned with an athletic build from all her running and previously from all her riding. Her skin is a light tan, though depending on how much time she spends outside, it can get darker.
As for her clothing, Starr is not anyone who can be labeled "high maintance". Growing up in a rural Montana town, she's learned that you wear what you're comfortable in, not what makes you look super adorable. Jeans and a t-shirt are her usual style, though she normally shops at American Eagle like your typical prep. Flip-flops are a staple in her wardrobe, and she wears them year round. Well, until it gets too snowy. She hardly ever shows her midriff, just to hide the scars from the accident, which shocks most people because she looks like she has nothing to hide. She'll wear a dress, high heels, and other dressy things occasionally, but that's got to be one occassion.
History: Starr was not born in Lakeland, but instead in Rodeo, Montana, a small town with a population less that two thousand and one heck of a gossip problem. Starr's parents were Jack and Crystal Parker and they owned a ranch a few miles outside of the main town. Her father was majorly involved in rodeos and named Starr after the first two horses he ever owned. Now that's nice, isn't it? Their ranch was a haven for rescued horses, a place where her father, with help from her mother, would rehabilitate them.
The first picture of Starr taken on a horse was when she was two, and it was no pony. She took to horses just as naturally as her father did, something that scared her mother to pieces. She could ride all on her own, without any help needed, by the age of seven and would even start going on trail rides with her father. Soon, she began going to watch him at the rodeos and fell in love with everything about them. Until she turned twelve, when she went to one rodeo she would never forget.
Her father was always a risk taker, and rodeos took the crown, but this one was so much different. A few seconds into the ride and he fell off, only to be trappled near death. He did die, a few days later, when Crystal Parker decided that it was best to take him off the machines. He wasn't truly alive anyhow. It took Starr several months to get back to normal, and even then she was changed. She spent more time with horses than with people, especially one mare that her father had been trying to rehabilitate.
Around a year after her father's death, the mare kicked Starr right into the tool rack, and onto a pitchfork. When her mother found her, she was already unconcious and Starr woke up in a hospital. Hospitals were on her list of fears ever since her father's death, and now horses were too. After she was released, her mother sold the ranch and moved them to Madison, Wisconsin, where she would later meet William Connors.
When their engagement was announced to both Starr and Bill's daughter, Alexa, Starr lost it and went on the infamous teenage rebellion streak. When she finally came out of it, they moved again, up to Lakeland. Now, Starr just has to find a way to deal with life as it's thrown at her.

RP SampleAs the sun was just rising up over the Georgia mountains, a black Chevy Silverado pulled into the small parking area of Turnkey Stables. Despite the looks of it, this truck was not a familiar sight at Turnkey. In fact, its tires had never graced the ground of this place. Neither had its driver, one Starr Parker.
If you didn't know much about her, you'd wonder why a girl who grew up in rodeos and on a ranch never visited the horses more often, but if you were lucky enough to know why, you would probably be quite surprised to see her here. The fact was, no one here in Trion, save for her family, knew why Starr didn't ride anymore, and sometimes she preferred to keep it that way. There were always too many questions involved.
And so that was why Starr was at the stable at 7 in the morning. No one got up at 7 to go riding, or at least not most of the people. She'd be able to take her own pace without looking like a freak, and that was a very good thing. She turned the ignition off, locking the car after shutting the door as quietly as possible, and started to head around to where the barn doors were. To where the horses were.
Her stomach started to knot and her mind started to race, but she ignored it by swallowing hard and taking a deep breath. This was something that needed to be done, and should've been done a long time ago. Starr fiddled around with her keys as she walked around, stopping dead in her tracks when she saw someone riding. At 7 in the morning. They were insane.
It was a guy, most definitely, and a very talented guy at that. Despite being mortally afraid of the animal he was on, she stopped by to watch, standing about a foot away from the fence. She wondered if he would notice her there, and silently started to think that maybe she should move on before he did. After all, she had to go at her own pace, and if someone else got involved, then it wouldn't be her pace anymore.
