The rain continued to fall down and the drops flowed down his bedroom window, so much for going out for another run. Sure he'd already went for a nice four mile run this morning but it was the afternoon now and he'd been planning on going out for a shorter run just for fun. Now did he normally run just for fun? Well, yes but it wasn't like he was obsessed with running or anything. It was just that he was bored and Jordan was working still, Anthony had been whisked away by his parents for the day and even his older brother was busy. It felt odd being completely alone for once but it was nice. Just then the AIM icon caught his eye, perhaps somebody would be on there that he could talk to.
Brendy`-obviously: has signed in.
He quickly began to type a message before he looked over to the sleeping puppy at the end of his bed. Brownie had followed him up here and now the dog was happily sleeping perhaps when the puppy woke up he would take him outside. He didn't mind being out in the rain as long as it wasn't storming. Of course, he knew that it probably wouldn't storm but he did feel sorry for Jordan since he was outside and probably still working at one of his dads construction sites.
Brendy`-obviously: Anybody here or is it just me?
If nobody else was here then he'd just have to sit there and wait until Brownie woke up. Of course, Jake would be home in a few hours and if he was really bored he could talk to him.

Maya was caught inside yet again, and cursed the rain that stopped her from galivanting off to a restaurant with Maddie. She sat yet again on her computer, wondering if her eyes could actually melt out of her sockets from hours of sitting before the computer. She sighed, and signed in, wondering how many would comment on her screen name before the dreary afternoon came to and end. eggnogiscool47: I'm here... i hardly count as anyone of any interest though Maya rested her head on her hands, watching the screen with slightly sore brown eyes. She glanced at the room around her, barely registering the large amounts of dirty landry, and the unmade bed that stared up, scrutinizing her as if begging to be made. She turned back to the computer, waiting for an answer.

He watched as somebody replied to his question, well at least he wasn't the only person indoors. Of course, he still felt like a complete idiot since everybody else was busy and he wasn't. He didn't have a job like some people did of course he knew that he was really busy most of the time with different things. Not to mention, sometimes Jake would convince him to do things like helping him coach things. He didn't mind that too much as long as people actually listened to him.
Brendy`-obviously: You must count a somebody though, besides you're probably more interesting then some of the people that I could be talking to.
That was the truth, right now he could be talking to somebody really boring who would go off and say thinks that were too simple. Like it's raining out or something, like he didn't know that it was raining out.
Brendy`-obviously: So, how are you on such a fine day?

Maya raised her eyebrow, oddly pleased by his use of sarcasm. So perhaps she had not contacted a dumb jock as she had first assumed, and always assumed when there was evidence somebody's name was Brendon. She didn't register the fact that perhaps this was an unfair stereotype and bent over the keyboard to type.
eggnogiscool47: i'm simply lovely, thanks very much. how are you?
Maya was slightly amused by the formal way this conversation had begun, but she sighed, and glanced outside again. The rain was as steady as before, tapping on the roof and windows, like a thousand tiny fingers over and over again. Somehow, the noise soothed her and she leaned back in her chair and waited.

How exactly was he? Bored, irritated, what? He tired to think up a way to answer her question but at the moment he didn't know how to describe his mood. Well, he might as well just go for it since it wasn't like he was taking a test or something. One shouldn't have to think this hard about their mood while instant messaging somebody. He knew that he didn't even know this girl and that she probably wasn't going to pick apart his answer.
Brendy`-obviously: Well, at the moment I'm a little on the bored side since my plans were kind or ruined by the rain. But on the plus side, I'm the only one that's home at the moment.
He typed and then sent the message before looking out the window. Although, all he could really see were tons of raindrops and a few cars going by.
((short but I have to get in the shower now.))

eggnogiscool47: ahh, yes, but you see i myself had no plans in the first place, and therefor am far more pathetic than any being that could cross your path
She leaned back again, a huge sigh escaping from her. Perhaps she would go out in the rain, and just watch it cascading gently down her back, wondering vaguely how soaked she would get before it stopped. She thought about telling him this, but then deleted the message and began typing a different one.
eggnogiscool47: do you go to lakeland high?

Brendy`-obviously: But, you are interesting to talk to and it's not like I haven't fallen asleep so you're not pathetic.
Ok, so that sounded a little odd but she wouldn't be pathetic in his book until she started saying how she hated her life and how bad things were. He hated people who complained all of the time or told other people how bad their life was and how they just wanted to run away from it all. Running away wasn't the way to solve problems didn't anybody even get that? People who complained in general were usually people that he wasn't around since he couldn't stand people who did that. It just bothered him to no end for some reason. Maybe it was because he was taught not to complain about every little thing.
Brendy`-obviously: Yes, I go to LHS and I've been living here my entire life what about you?
He knew that once he mentioned his name that she'd probably know who he was and that was why he was a little reluctant about typing it. He wasn't afraid of stalkers (ok so he was when it came to the group of girls that followed him around.) But he just didn't want her to instantly hate him because she thought that he was just some stupid person who was only good at sports. When it came to academics things were fine, his parents expected him to get high marks in everything. So he ended up with mostly A's and B's. He couldn't remember the last time that he had a C.

eggnogiscool47: me? oh no. i've lived here for the past year or so, but i still don't really feel like i belong. when i heard we were moving to wisconsin i was pretty pissed. i mean, no offense, but what is there to do in wisconsin? but its turned out to be not so bad, and life could always be worse ;]
She sighed and massaged her temples, wondering if she heard a break in the rain. But no, it was simply her hopeful imagination, wandering to the little corner of the universe where it was not pouring cold rain. She watched the screen, eyes smarting.

Brendy`-obviously: Oh no offense taken, trust me you're not the first person who asked me that question. I could probably name a bunch of things for people to do but it's not like everybody likes certain areas. After all, this city is a little on the small side for some people.
He began to wonder who this person was he tried to remember who all had moved here during the past year. But he could only remember a few people and if this girl was an underclassmen that he probably wouldn't know them. It wasn't like he avoided people who were younger than him it was just that most people were intimidated to talk to him. Since they thought that he'd just ignore them or something since they were just underclassmen. That wasn't true and if only people would understand that.
Brendy`-obviously: I'm sorry but my mind is drawing a blank who exactly are you?

eggnogiscool47 oh no, i quite prefer small towns to big cities. it was the state itself i was prejudice against. don't really no why, it's turned out to be quite interesting. and i'm maya felton. i know who you are. your brendon erikson, the jock who's always flocked by girls. gee you must like that huh? She was slightly less disgusted with him than her tone implied, but what did it matter if the pretty boy thought she was slightly more pissed than she really was? She despised herself slightly for liking him, before she had figured out who he was. Everybody knew who he was. And, of course he didn't know who she was, she figured, sucking on her lip, almost anxiously. She sighed, leaning back into the chair, and glancing upward. Was it possible she was being unfairly prejudice, believing just because he was Brendon Erikson, he was a total jerk who enjoyed all the attention he was getting? It was an odd thought. Maya wasn't used to second guessing herself, and closed her eyes, shaking her head slightly, mostly at her own behavior.

He read what she had written as was rather shocked by how her tone was. It seemed like she didn't like him and he was probably right. He knew that some people were jealous of him, if only they knew how fed up he got when people seemed to follow him everywhere. He tried to think of if he had seen this girl before and actually, he didn't think that he had.
Brendy`-obviously: Personally, I don't like having a bunch of people follow me around all of the time. Especially, when I'm trying to carry on a private conversation with people. Not to mention it's like people know my every move and it's get annoying.
He was glad that she hadn't called him something like a hotshot or something. Did people really think that he loved having people follow him around all of the time during school? He hoped that what he had just written would help this Maya understand that he didn't like all of the attention he got sometimes.

eggnogiscool47: well that's a surprise. as you may have drawn, i'm a tad bit prejudice when it comes to pretty bo- er i mean kind, thoughtful gentlemen such as yourself.
She smirked slightly, but a tiny part of her felt bad. Perhaps Brendon was different and really didn't deserve all of this crap? She shrugged inwardly, and began to type, the tapping sound of her fingers typing, almost blending into the sound of the rain against the roof.
eggnogiscool47: okay, i'll tell you what. for whatever odd reason my conscience is catching up with me, and i'm feeling this odd sensation. almost like guilt. whatever. anyway, i say we both need to get up off our lazy arses and do something. i'm off to go stand out in the rain, would you like to join me?

Brendy`-obviously: Oh, trust me I'm not one of those guys who spends an hour trying to find something to wear. And it's not like I spend twenty minutes fixing my hair or anything.
He'd almost laughed at her first message, he could understand where she was coming from. Since some people thought that he took a whole bunch of time when it came to his appearance. He only did that when it was for something important, like when his dad was having some client over for dinner or something.
Brendy`-obviously: Yeah, I guess that it would probably be better if I got off of the computer. Since I'm feeling the need to get outside too. So yes, I will join me as long as you promise not to think of my as a pretty boy ok?

Maya smiled. Surprises sure came from everywhere didn't they? eggnogiscool47: heheh, we'll see what we can do so i'll meet you... where? It was an odd situation she found herself in. Jocks usually didn't interest her, but here was one that seemed like a real person, willing to get to know her. Maya didn't really know what to think, so she simply decided meeting him would tell her whether she was for real. She glanced down at her penguin pajama bottoms with a smile. eggnogiscool47: of course, i better change first. i love my penguin pjs, but maybe not so good for standing out in the rain...

He tried to think of a place where he could meet this girl. It wasn't like they could meet in a place that she probably didn't know about. Well, he might as well meet her at the park or at least the main park anyway.
Brendy`-obviously: Well, how about we meet at the park? Nobody's going to be out there in the rain, or at least no old people or anything.
He studied what he was wearing, it was just a t shirt and a pair of jeans that were a little on the old side. They were fine for going out in the rain but, he was trying to decide if he actually should bring a jacket with. The rain was probably warm though, so there really wasn't a need for one. There, he'd just solved his own problem.
Brendy`-obviously: Well, I guess that I'll met you out there then.
